BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Salmo, ovver cantico pel giorno di sabato. Buona cosa ell'è il dar gloria al Signore, e cantar inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo:	1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,
2 Per celebrare al mattino la tua misericordia, e la tua verità nella notte;	2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'
3 Cantando sopra il saltero a dieci corde, e sopra la cetra.	3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;
4 Perocché tu mi hai letificato, o Signore, colle cose fatte da te, e nelle opere delle tue mani io esulto.	4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.
5 Quanto sono magnifiche, o Signore, le opere tue grandemente profondi sono i tuoi consiglj.	5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,
6 L'uomo insensato non gli intenderà, e lo stolto non capirà tali cose.	6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.
7 Allorché i peccatori saran venuti su come l'erba, ed avran fatta la loro comparsa tutti quelli, che operano l'iniquità,	7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.
8 Ei periranno per tutti i secoli: ma tu, o Signore, tu sei eternamente l'Altissimo.	8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,
9 Imperocché ecco che i nemici tuoi, o Signore, ecco che i nemici tuoi, periranno, e saranno spersi tutti quelli, che operano l'iniquità.	9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.
10 E la mia forza sarà esaltata, come quella dell'unicorno, e la mia vecchiezza per la copiosa misericordia.	10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;
11 E il mio occhio guarderà con disprezzo i miei nemici, e le mie orecchie udiranno novella intorno a coloro, che si levan su, e malignano contro di me.	11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.
12 Fiorirà il giunto come la palma: si innalzerà qual cedro del Libano.	12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.
13 Allorché son piantati nella casa del Signore, fioriranno nell'atrio della casa del nostro Dio.	13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.
14 Ringioveniranno di nuovo in pingue vecchiezza, e saranno ben forti per annunziare,	14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.
15 Come il Signore Dio nostro è giusto, e non è in lui la minima iniquità.	15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.
	16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'
