BIBBIA MARTINI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Salmo di Davidde, quando si contraffece in presenza di Achimelech, il quale lo licenziò, ed ei si parti. In ogni tempo io benedirò il Signore; le laudi di lui saran sempre nella mia bocca.	1 A psalm for David. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright.
2 Nel Signore si glorierà l'anima mia: ascoltino gli umili, e si consolino.	2 Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.
3 Esaltate meco il Signore, ed esaltiamo insieme il nome di lui.	3 Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.
4 Cercai il Signore, e mi esaudì: e mi trasse fuori di tutte le mie tribolazioni.	4 For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.
5 Accostatevi a lui, e sarete illuminati, e i vostri volti non avran confusione.	5 He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.
6 Questo povero alzò le grida, e il Signore lo esaudì, e lo trasse fuori di tutte le sue tribolazioni.	6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:
7 Calerà l'Angelo del Signore intorno a color, che lo temono, e li libererà.	7 Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.
8 Gustate, e fate sperienza, come soave sia il Signore: beato l'uomo, che spera in lui.	8 Let all the earth fear the Lord, and let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.
9 Santi tutti del Signore, temetelo; imperocché non manca nulla a color, che lo temono.	9 For he spoke and they were made: he commanded and they were created.
10 I ricchi si trovarono in bisogno, e patiron la fame: ma a coloro, che temono il Signore non mancherà nissun bene.	10 The Lord bringeth to naught the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.
11 Venite, o figliuoli, ascoltatemi, vi insegnerò a temere il Signore.	11 But the counsel of the Lord standeth for ever: the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Chi è colui, che ama la vita; e desidera di vedere de' buoni giorni?	12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.
13 Custodisci pura da ogni male la tua lingua, e le tue labbra non parlino con inganno.	13 The Lord hath looked from heaven: he hath beheld all the sons of men.
14 Fuggì il male, e opera il bene; cerca la pace, e valle appresso.	14 From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.
15 Gli occhi del Signore sopra de' giusti, e le orecchie di lui tese alle loro orazioni.	15 He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.
16 Ma la faccia del Signore irata inverso di coloro, che fanno il male, per isterminare dal mondo la lor memoria.	16 The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.
17 Alzaron le grida i giusti, e il Signore gli esaudì, e liberolli da tutte le loro tribolazioni.	17 Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.
18 Il Signore sta dappresso a coloro, che hanno il cuore afflitto, e agli umili di spirito darà salute.	18 Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.
19 Molte le tribolazioni de' giusti; e da tutte queste li trarrà il Signore.	19 To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.
20 Di tutti i loro ossi ha cura il Signore; uno di questi non sarà fatto in pezzi.	20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.
21 Pessima la morte de' peccatori; e quelli, che odiano il giusto saran delusi.	21 For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.
22 Il Signore riscatterà le anime de' servi suoi, e non saranno delusi tutti quei, che sperano in lui.	22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in thee.
