BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Dello stesso Davidde. Benedici, o anima mia il Signore, e tutte le mie interiora (benedicano) il nome santo di lui.	1 [Prayer of someone afflicted, who in misfortune pours out sorrows before Yahweh] Yahweh, hear myprayer, let my cry for help reach you.
2 Benedici, o anima mia il Signore, e non volere scordarti d'alcuno de' suoi benefizj.	2 Do not turn away your face from me when I am in trouble; bend down and listen to me, when I cal ,be quick to answer me!
3 Egli, che perdona tutte le tue iniquità, che tutte sana le tue infermità.	3 For my days are vanishing like smoke, my bones burning like an oven;
4 Che riscatta la tua vita da morte: e di misericordie ti circonda, e di grazie.	4 like grass struck by blight, my heart is withering, I forget to eat my meals.
5 Che sazia co' beni suoi il tuo desiderio: si rinnovellerà com'aquila la tua giovinezza.	5 From the effort of voicing my groans my bones stick out through my skin.
6 Il Signore fa misericordia, e fa ragione a tutti quei, che soffrono ingiuria:	6 I am like a desert-owl in the wastes, a screech-owl among ruins,
7 fè conoscere le sue vie a Mosè; le sue volonta di a' figliuoli d'Israele.	7 I keep vigil and moan like a lone bird on a roof.
8 Il Signore misericordioso, e benigno: paziente, e misericordioso grandemente.	8 Al day long my enemies taunt me, those who once praised me now use me as a curse.
9 Non sarà irato per sempre, e non minaccierà eternamente.	9 Ashes are the food that I eat, my drink is mingled with tears,
10 Non ha fatto a noi secondo i nostri peccati, nè ci ha data retribuzione secondo le nostre iniquità.	10 because of your fury and anger, since you have raised me up only to cast me away;
11 Imperocché quanto è alto il cielo dalla terra, tanto egli ha fatta grande la sua misericordia verso di quei, che lo temono.	11 my days are like a fading shadow, I am withering up like grass.
12 Quanto è lontano l'Oriente dall'Occidente, tanto egli ha rimossi da noi i nostri peccati.	12 But you, Yahweh, are enthroned for ever, each generation in turn remembers you.
13 Come un padre ha compassione de' figliuoli, cosi il Signore ha avuto compassione di quei, che lo temono, perché egli conosce di che siamo formati.	13 Rise up, take pity on Zion! the time has come to have mercy on her, the moment has come;
14 Si è ricordato, che noi siam polvere: i giorni dell'uomo sono come l'erba: egli sboccerà come il fiore dal campo.	14 for your servants love her very stones, are moved to pity by her dust.
15 Imperocché lo spirito sarà in lui di passaggio, ed ei più non sarà: e non discernerà più il luogo dov'era.	15 Then wil the nations revere the name of Yahweh, and al the kings of the earth your glory;
16 Ma la misericordia del Signore ab eterno, e fino in eterno sopra color, che lo temono,	16 when Yahweh builds Zion anew, he will be seen in his glory;
17 E la giustizia di lui sopra i figliuoli de' figliuoli di quelli, che mantengono la sua alleanza;	17 he wil turn to hear the prayer of the destitute, and wil not treat their prayer with scorn.
18 E de' comandamenti di lui si ricordano per adempirli.	18 This shall be put on record for a future generation, and a people yet to be born shal praise God:
19 Il Signore ha preparato in cielo il suo trono, e al regno di lui tutti saranno soggetti.	19 Yahweh has leaned down from the heights of his sanctuary, has looked down from heaven to earth,
20 Benedite il Signore voi tutti, Angeli di lui, possenti in virtù, esecutori di sua parola, ubbidienti alla voce de' suoi comandi.	20 to listen to the sighing of the captive, and set free those condemned to death,
21 Benedite il Signore voi schiere di lui tutte quante: ministri di lui, che fate la sua volontà.	21 to proclaim the name of Yahweh in Zion, his praise in Jerusalem;
22 Voi opere di Dio quante siete in qualunque luogo del suo impero bene dite il Signore: benedici il Signore, o anima mia.	22 nations wil gather together, and kingdoms to worship Yahweh.
	23 In my journeying my strength has failed on the way;
	24 let me know the short time I have left. Do not take me away before half my days are done, for youryears run on from age to age.
	25 Long ago you laid earth's foundations, the heavens are the work of your hands.
	26 They pass away but you remain; they al wear out like a garment, like outworn clothes you changethem;
	27 but you never alter, and your years never end.
	28 The children of those who serve you wil dwel secure, and their descendants live on in yourpresence.
