2 Intonate salmi, e sonate il timpano, il dolce salterò insieme colla cetra.	2 over Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh; rouse your valour and come to our help.
3 Date fiato alla buccina nel novilunio, nel giorno insigne di vostra solennità.	3 God, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
4 Imperocché tal e il comando dato ad Israele, e il rito istituito dal Dio di Giacobbe.	4 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?
5 Egli lo ha ordinato per memoria a Giuseppe quando usci dalla terra d'Egitto, quando udì una lingua, che a lui era ignota.	5 You have made tears their food, redoubled tears their drink.
6 Sgravò (Dio) gli omeri di lui da' pesi: le mani di lui avean servito a portare i corbelli.	6 You let our neighbours quarrel over us, our enemies mock us.
7 Mi invocasti nella tribolazione, e io ti liberai: ti esaudii nella cupa tempesta: feci prova di te alle acque di contraddizione.	7 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
8 Ascolta, popol mio, ed io ti istruirò: se tu ascolterai me, o Israele, non sarà presso di te dio novello, né adorerai dio straniero.	8 You brought a vine out of Egypt, to plant it you drove out nations;
9 Imperocché io sono il Signore Dìo tuo, che ti trassi dalla terra d'Egitto: dilata la tua bocca, ed io adempirò i tuoi voti.	9 you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.
10 Ma il popol mio non ascoltò la mia voce, e Israele non mi credette.	10 The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,
11 E io li lasciai andare secondo i desiderj del loro cuore: cammineranno secondo i vani loro consigli.	11 its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.
12 Se il popol mio mi avesse ascoltato, se nelle mie vie avesse camminato Israele,	12 Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,
13 Con facilità avrei forse umiliati i loro nemici; e sopra color, che gli affliggono avrei stesa la mia mano.	13 boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.
14 I nemici del Signore a lui mancaron di fede, ma verrà il loro tempo, che sarà eterno.	14 God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;
15 Ed ei gli ha nudriti di ottimo frumento: e gli ha saziati del miele, che usciva dal masso.	15 protect what your own hand has planted.
	16 They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.
	17 May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!
	18 Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
	19 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shal be safe.
