1 Non mandare in perdizione: iscrizione da mettersi sopra una colonna: a Davidde quando fuggendo Saul si ritirò in una spelonca. Abbi misericordia di me, o Dio, abbi misericordia di me, perché in te confida l'anima mia. E all'ombra dell'ali tue spererò, sino a tanto che passi l'iniquità.	1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
2 Alzerò le mie grida a Dio altissimo, a Dio mio benefattore.	2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
3 Mandò dal cielo a liberarmi: svergognò coloro, che mi conculcavano.	3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 Mandò Dio la sua misericordia, e la sua verità, e liberò l'anima mia di mezzo ai giovani leoni: conturbato mi addormentai. Dei figliuoli degli uomini sono i denti lance, e saette, e affilato coltello la loro lingua.	4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
5 Innalza te stesso, o Dio, sopra de' cieli, e la tua gloria per tutta la terra.	5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 Tesero mi laccio a' miei piedi, e vi fecer piegare l'anima mia. Scavarono dinanzi a me una fossa, e in essa sono caduti.	6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
7 Il mio cuore, o Dio, egli è preparato: egli è preparato il cuor mio: canterò, salmeggerò.	7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.
8 Sorgi, o mia gloria, sorgi tu, salterio, e tu, celerà: io sorgerò coll'aurora.	8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
9 A te darò laude, o Signore, tra i popoli, e inni a te canterò tralle genti:	9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
10 Imperocché si è innalzata fino a' cieli la tua misericordia, e fino alle nubi la tua verità.	10 In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
11 Innalza te stesso, o Dio, sopra de' cieli la tua gloria per tutta quanta la terra.	11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
	12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
	13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
