1 Ai figliuoli di Gore: Salmo di intelligenza. Noi, o Dio, colle nostre orecchie udimmo: i padri nostri a noi annunziarono, Quello, che tu facesti ne' giorni loro, e ne' giorni antichi.	1 Unto the end. To the sons of Korah, toward understanding.
2 La mano tua estirpò le nazioni, e desti loro ferma sede; gastigasti que' popoli, e li discacciasti:	2 We have heard, O God, with our own ears. Our fathers have announced to us the work that you wrought in their days and in the days of antiquity.
3 Imperocché non in virtù della loro spada divenner padroni della terra, né il loro valore diede ad essi salute. Ma si la tua destra, e la tua potenza, e il benigno tuo volto; perche avesti buon volere per essi.	3 Your hand dispersed the Gentiles, and you transplanted them. You afflicted a people, and you expelled them.
4 Tu se' tu stesso il mio Re, e il mio Dio: tu che ordini la salute di Giacobbe.	4 For they did not take possession of the land by their sword, and their own arm did not save them. But your right hand and your arm, and the light of your countenance did so, because you were pleased with them.
5 Per te avrem forza per gettare a terra i nostri nemici, e nel nome tuo non farem caso di quelli, che insorgono contro di noi.	5 You yourself are my king and my God, who commands the salvation of Jacob.
6 Imperocché non nel mio arco porrò io la mia speranza, e la mia spada non sarà quella, che mi salverà.	6 With you, we will brandish a horn before our enemies; and in your name, we will spurn those rising up against us.
7 Imperocché tu ci salvasti da coloro, che ci affliggevano, e svergognasti color, che ci odiavano.	7 For I will not hope in my bow, and my sword will not save me.
8 In Dio ci glorieremo ogni di, e il nome tuo celebreremo pe' secoli.	8 For you have saved us from those who afflict us, and you have bewildered those who hate us.
9 Ma adesso tu ci hai rigettati, e svergognati, e non vai innanzi a' nostri eserciti.	9 In God, we will give praise all day long; and in your name, we will confess forever.
10 Ci facesti voltar le spalle a' nostri nemici, e que', che ci odiano, ci saccheggiarono.	10 But now, you have rejected and bewildered us, and you will not go forth with our armies, O God.
11 Ci rendesti come pecore da macello, e ci hai dispersi tralle nazioni.	11 You have turned our back to our enemies, and those who hated us have plundered for themselves.
12 Hai venduto il tuo popolo per nissun prezzo, e non a gran pregio lo alienasti.	12 You have given us over like sheep for food. You have scattered us among the Gentiles.
13 Ci hai renduti oggetto di obbrobrio pe' nostri nemici, favola, e scherno de' nostri vicini.	13 You have sold your people without a price, and no great number was exchanged for them.
14 Hai fatto si, che siamo proverbiati dalle nazioni, e siamo il ludibrio de' popoli.	14 You have set us as a disgrace to our neighbors, a scoff and a derision to those who are around us.
15 Ho dinanzi a me tutto il giorno la mia ignominia e la mia faccia di confusione è coperta.	15 You have set us as a parable among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
16 In udendo il parlare di chi mi svitupera, e mi dice improperj, in veggendo il nemico, e il persecutore.	16 All day long my shame is before me, and the confusion of my face has covered me,
17 Tutte queste cose sono cadute sopra di noi, e non ci siamo dimenticati di te, e non abbiamo operato iniquamente contro la tua alleanza.	17 before the voice of the reproacher and the commentator, before the face of the adversary and the pursuer.
18 E il nostro cuore non si è ribellato, e non hai permesso, che declinassero dalla tua via i nostri passi.	18 All these things have come upon us, yet we have not forgotten you, and we have not acted unjustly in your covenant.
19 Mentre tu ci hai umiliati nel luogo dell'afflizione, e ci ha ricoperti l'ombra di morte.	19 And our heart has not turned back. And you have not diverted our steps from your way.
20 Se noi abbiamo dimenticato il nome del nostro Dio, e se abbiamo stese le mani a un dio straniero;	20 For you humbled us in a place of affliction, and the shadow of death has covered us.
21 Non farà egli Iddio ricerca di tali cose? imperocché egli conosce i segreti del cuore. Ma per tua cagione siam tutto di messi a morte, siamo stimati come pecore da macello.	21 If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have extended our hands to a foreign god,
22 Levati su, perché se' tu addor montato, o Signore? levati su, e non rigettarci per sempre.	22 will not God find this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart. For, because of you, we are being killed all day long. We are considered as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Per qual ragione ascondi tu la tua faccia, ti scordi della nostra miseria, e della nostra tribolazione?	23 Rise up. Why do you fall asleep, O Lord? Rise up, and do not reject us in the end.
24 Imperocché è umiliata fino alla polvere l'anima nostra, stiamo prostrati col ventre sopra la terra.	24 Why do you turn your face away, and why do you forget our needfulness and our tribulation?
25 Levati su, o Signore, soccorrici: e liberaci per amor del tuo nome.	25 For our soul has been humbled into the dust. Our belly has been bound to the earth.
	26 Rise up, O Lord. Help us and redeem us, because of your name.
