1 Orazione di Davidde. Esaudisci, o Signore, la mia giustizia, da udienza alle mie preghiere. Porgi le orecchie alla orazione, che io fo con labbra non fraudolente.	1 A Prayer of David. Lord, listen to my justice, attend to my supplication. Pay attention to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.
2 Dalla tua faccia venga la mia giustificazione: gli occhi tuoi rivolgano verso dell'equità.	2 Let my judgment proceed from your presence. Let your eyes behold fairness.
3 Hai fatto saggio del mio cuore, e nella notte lo hai visitato: col fuoco hai fatto prova di me, e non si è trovata in me iniquità.	3 You have tested my heart and visited it by night. You have examined me by fire, and iniquity has not been found in me.
4 Affinchè la mia bocca non parli secondo il fare degli uomini: per riguardo alle parole delle tue labbra io ho battuto vie faticose.	4 Therefore, may my mouth not speak the works of men. I have kept to difficult ways because of the words of your lips.
5 Reggi tu fortemente i miei passi ne' tuoi sentieri, affinchè i piedi miei non vacillino.	5 Perfect my steps in your paths, so that my footsteps may not be disturbed.
6 Io alzai, o Dio, le mie grida, perché tu mi esaudisti: porgi a me la tua orecchia, e ascolta le mie parole.	6 I have cried out because you, O God, have listened to me. Incline your ear to me and heed my words.
7 Fa bella mostra di tue misericordie, o Salvator di coloro, che sperano in te.	7 Make your mercies wonderful, for you save those who hope in you.
8 Da color, che resistono alla tua destra tienimi difeso come la pupilla dell'occhio. Cuoprimi all'ombra delle ali tue:	8 From those who resist your right hand, preserve me like the pupil of your eye. Protect me under the shadow of your wings,
9 Dalla faccia degli empj, che mi hanno afflitto. I miei nemici han circondata l'anima mia:	9 from the face of the impious who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul.
10 Hanno chiuse le loro viscere; la loro bocca ha parlato con arroganza.	10 They have concealed their fatness; their mouth has been speaking arrogantly.
11 Dopo di avermi rigettato adesso mi han circondato: si studiano di tener gli occhi loro rivolti alla terra.	11 They have cast me out, and now they have surrounded me. They have cast their eyes down to the earth.
12 Stanno intenti a me come un lione inteso alla preda, e come un lioncino, che sta in aguato in luoghi nascosti.	12 They have taken me, like a lion ready for the prey, and like a young lion dwelling in hiding.
13 Levati su, o Signore, previenlo, gettalo a terra; libera colla tua spada l'anima mia dall'empio,	13 Rise up, O Lord, arrive before him and displace him. Deliver my soul from the impious one: your spear from the enemies of your hand.
14 Da' nemici della tua mano. Separagli, o Signore, nella lor vita da que', che sono in piccol numero sulla terra: il loro ventre è ripieno de' beni tuoi. Hanno numerosa figliuolanza, e lasciano i loro avanzi ai lor bambini.	14 Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life. Their gut has been filled from your hidden stores. They have been filled with sons, and they have bequeathed to their little ones the remainder.
15 Ma io mi presenterò al tuo cospetto con la giustizia: sarò satollato all'apparire della tua gloria.	15 But as for me, I will appear before your sight in justice. I will be satisfied when your glory appears.
