1 Cantico de' gradi. Beati tutti coloro, che temono il Signore, che camminano nelle sue vie.	1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain who build. Unless the LORD guard the city, in vain does the guard keep watch.
2 Perché tu mangerai le fatiche delle tue mani, tu se' beato, e sarai felice.	2 It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, To eat bread earned by hard toil-- all this God gives to his beloved in sleep.
3 La tua consorte come vite feconda: nell'interior di tua casa.	3 Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.
4 I tuoi figliuoli, come novelle piante d'ulivi intorno alla tua mensa.	4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children born in one's youth.
5 Ecco come sarà benedetto l'uomo, che teme il Signore.	5 Blessed are they whose quivers are full. They will never be shamed contending with foes at the gate.
6 Ti benedica da Sionne il Signore, e vegga tu i beni di Gerusalemme per tutti i giorni della tua vita.
7 E vegga tu i figliuoli de' tuoi figliuoli: e la pace in Israele.
