BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Maskil. Di Asaf.Ascolta, popolo mio, la mia legge,porgi l’orecchio alle parole della mia bocca.	1 [Psalm Of Asaph] My people, listen to my teaching, pay attention to what I say.
2 Aprirò la mia bocca con una parabola,rievocherò gli enigmi dei tempi antichi.	2 I will speak to you in poetry, unfold the mysteries of the past.
3 Ciò che abbiamo udito e conosciutoe i nostri padri ci hanno raccontato	3 What we have heard and know, what our ancestors have told us
4 non lo terremo nascosto ai nostri figli,raccontando alla generazione futurale azioni gloriose e potenti del Signoree le meraviglie che egli ha compiuto.	4 we shal not conceal from their descendants, but wil tell to a generation stil to come: the praises ofYahweh, his power, the wonderful deeds he has done.
5 Ha stabilito un insegnamento in Giacobbe,ha posto una legge in Israele,che ha comandato ai nostri padridi far conoscere ai loro figli,	5 He instituted a witness in Jacob, he established a law in Israel, he commanded our ancestors to handit down to their descendants,
6 perché la conosca la generazione futura,i figli che nasceranno.Essi poi si alzeranno a raccontarlo ai loro figli,	6 that a generation stil to come might know it, children yet to be born. They should be sure to tel theirown children,
7 perché ripongano in Dio la loro fiduciae non dimentichino le opere di Dio,ma custodiscano i suoi comandi.	7 and should put their trust in God, never forgetting God's great deeds, always keeping his commands,
8 Non siano come i loro padri,generazione ribelle e ostinata,generazione dal cuore incostantee dallo spirito infedele a Dio.	8 and not, like their ancestors, be a stubborn and rebel ious generation, a generation weak of purpose,their spirit fickle towards God.
9 I figli di Èfraim, arcieri valorosi,voltarono le spalle nel giorno della battaglia.	9 The archer sons of Ephraim turned tail when the time came for fighting;
10 Non osservarono l’alleanza di Dioe si rifiutarono di camminare nella sua legge.	10 they failed to keep God's covenant, they refused to fol ow his Law;
11 Dimenticarono le sue opere,le meraviglie che aveva loro mostrato.	11 they had forgotten his great deeds, the marvels he had shown them;
12 Cose meravigliose aveva fatto davanti ai loro padrinel paese d’Egitto, nella regione di Tanis.	12 he did marvels in the sight of their ancestors in Egypt, in the plains of Tanis.
13 Divise il mare e li fece passare,e fermò le acque come un argine.	13 He split the sea and brought them through, made the waters stand up like a dam;
14 Li guidò con una nube di giornoe tutta la notte con un bagliore di fuoco.	14 he led them with a cloud by day, and al the night with the light of a fire;
15 Spaccò rocce nel desertoe diede loro da bere come dal grande abisso.	15 he split rocks in the desert, let them drink as though from the limitless depths;
16 Fece sgorgare ruscelli dalla rupee scorrere l’acqua a fiumi.	16 he brought forth streams from a rock, made waters flow down in torrents.
17 Eppure continuarono a peccare contro di lui,a ribellarsi all’Altissimo in luoghi aridi.	17 But they only sinned against him more than ever, defying the Most High in barren country;
18 Nel loro cuore tentarono Dio,chiedendo cibo per la loro gola.	18 they deliberately chal enged God by demanding food to their hearts' content.
19 Parlarono contro Dio,dicendo: «Sarà capace Diodi preparare una tavola nel deserto?».	19 They insulted God by saying, 'Can God make a banquet in the desert?
20 Certo! Egli percosse la rupee ne scaturì acqua e strariparono torrenti.«Saprà dare anche paneo procurare carne al suo popolo?».	20 True, when he struck the rock, waters gushed out and flowed in torrents; but what of bread? Can hegive that, can he provide meat for his people?'
21 Perciò il Signore udì e ne fu adirato;un fuoco divampò contro Giacobbee la sua ira si levò contro Israele,	21 When he heard them Yahweh vented his anger, fire blazed against Jacob, his anger mountedagainst Israel,
22 perché non ebbero fede in Dioe non confidarono nella sua salvezza.	22 because they had no faith in God, no trust in his power to save.
23 Diede ordine alle nubi dall’altoe aprì le porte del cielo;	23 Even so he gave orders to the skies above, he opened the sluice-gates of heaven;
24 fece piovere su di loro la manna per ciboe diede loro pane del cielo:	24 he rained down manna to feed them, he gave them the wheat of heaven;
25 l’uomo mangiò il pane dei forti;diede loro cibo in abbondanza.	25 mere mortals ate the bread of the Mighty, he sent them as much food as they could want.
26 Scatenò nel cielo il vento orientale,con la sua forza fece soffiare il vento australe;	26 He roused an east wind in the heavens, despatched a south wind by his strength;
27 su di loro fece piovere carne come polveree uccelli come sabbia del mare,	27 he rained down meat on them like dust, birds thick as sand on the seashore,
28 li fece cadere in mezzo ai loro accampamenti,tutt’intorno alle loro tende.	28 tumbling into the middle of his camp, al around his dwel ing-place.
29 Mangiarono fino a saziarsied egli appagò il loro desiderio.	29 They ate as much food as they wanted, he satisfied al their cravings;
30 Il loro desiderio non era ancora scomparso,avevano ancora il cibo in bocca,	30 but their cravings were still upon them, the food was stil in their mouths,
31 quando l’ira di Dio si levò contro di loro,uccise i più robusti e abbatté i migliori d’Israele.	31 when the wrath of God attacked them, slaughtering their strongest men, laying low the flower ofIsrael.
32 Con tutto questo, peccarono ancorae non ebbero fede nelle sue meraviglie.	32 Despite al this, they went on sinning, they put no faith in his marvels.
33 Allora consumò in un soffio i loro giornie i loro anni nel terrore.	33 He made their days vanish in mist, their years in sudden ruin.
34 Quando li uccideva, lo cercavanoe tornavano a rivolgersi a lui,	34 Whenever he slaughtered them, they began to seek him, they turned back and looked eagerly forhim,
35 ricordavano che Dio è la loro rocciae Dio, l’Altissimo, il loro redentore;	35 recalling that God was their rock, God the Most High, their redeemer.
36 lo lusingavano con la loro bocca,ma gli mentivano con la lingua:	36 They tried to hoodwink him with their mouths, their tongues were deceitful towards him;
37 il loro cuore non era costante verso di luie non erano fedeli alla sua alleanza.	37 their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant.
38 Ma lui, misericordioso, perdonava la colpa,invece di distruggere.Molte volte trattenne la sua irae non scatenò il suo furore;	38 But in his compassion he forgave their guilt instead of kil ing them, time and again repressing hisanger instead of rousing his full wrath,
39 ricordava che essi sono di carne,un soffio che va e non ritorna.	39 remembering they were creatures of flesh, a breath of wind that passes, never to return.
40 Quante volte si ribellarono a lui nel deserto,lo rattristarono in quei luoghi solitari!	40 How often they defied him in the desert! How often they grieved him in the wastelands!
41 Ritornarono a tentare Dio,a esasperare il Santo d’Israele.	41 Repeatedly they chal enged God, provoking the Holy One of Israel,
42 Non si ricordarono più della sua mano,del giorno in cui li aveva riscattati dall’oppressione,	42 not remembering his hand, the time when he saved them from the oppressor,
43 quando operò in Egitto i suoi segni,i suoi prodigi nella regione di Tanis.	43 he who did his signs in Egypt, his miracles in the plains of Tanis,
44 Egli mutò in sangue i loro fiumie i loro ruscelli, perché non bevessero.	44 turning their rivers to blood, their streams so that they had nothing to drink.
45 Mandò contro di loro tafani a divorarlie rane a distruggerli.	45 He sent horseflies to eat them up, and frogs to devastate them,
46 Diede ai bruchi il loro raccolto,alle locuste la loro fatica.	46 consigning their crops to the caterpil ar, the fruit of their hard work to the locust;
47 Devastò le loro vigne con la grandine,i loro sicomòri con la brina.	47 he kil ed their vines with hail, their sycamore trees with frost,
48 Consegnò alla peste il loro bestiame,ai fulmini le loro greggi.	48 delivering up their cattle to hail, and their flocks to thunderbolts.
49 Scatenò contro di loro l’ardore della sua ira,la collera, lo sdegno, la tribolazione,e inviò messaggeri di sventure.	49 He loosed against them the ful heat of his anger, fury, rage and destruction, a detachment ofdestroying angels;
50 Spianò la strada alla sua ira:non li risparmiò dalla mortee diede in preda alla peste la loro vita.	50 he gave free course to his anger. He did not exempt their own selves from death, delivering up theirlives to the plague.
51 Colpì ogni primogenito in Egitto,nelle tende di Cam la primizia del loro vigore.	51 He struck all the first-born in Egypt, the flower of the youth in the tents of Ham.
52 Fece partire come pecore il suo popoloe li condusse come greggi nel deserto.	52 He brought out his people like sheep, guiding them like a flock in the desert,
53 Li guidò con sicurezza e non ebbero paura,ma i loro nemici li sommerse il mare.	53 leading them safe and unafraid, while the sea engulfed their enemies.
54 Li fece entrare nei confini del suo santuario,questo monte che la sua destra si è acquistato.	54 He brought them to his holy land, the hil -country won by his right hand;
55 Scacciò davanti a loro le gentie sulla loro eredità gettò la sorte,facendo abitare nelle loro tendele tribù d’Israele.	55 he dispossessed nations before them, measured out a heritage for each of them, and settled thetribes of Israel in their tents.
56 Ma essi lo tentarono,si ribellarono a Dio, l’Altissimo,e non osservarono i suoi insegnamenti.	56 But stil they chal enged the Most High God and defied him, refusing to keep his decrees;
57 Deviarono e tradirono come i loro padri,fallirono come un arco allentato.	57 as perverse and treacherous as their ancestors, they gave way like a faulty bow,
58 Lo provocarono con le loro alture sacree con i loro idoli lo resero geloso.	58 provoking him with their high places, rousing his jealousy with their idols.
59 Dio udì e s’infiammò,e respinse duramente Israele.	59 God listened and vented his wrath, he totally rejected Israel;
60 Abbandonò la dimora di Silo,la tenda che abitava tra gli uomini;	60 he forsook his dwelling in Shiloh, the tent where he used to dwel on the earth.
61 ridusse in schiavitù la sua forza,il suo splendore in potere del nemico.	61 He abandoned his power to captivity, his splendour to the enemy's clutches;
62 Diede il suo popolo in preda alla spadae s’infiammò contro la sua eredità.	62 he gave up his people to the sword, he vented his wrath on his own heritage.
63 Il fuoco divorò i suoi giovani migliori,le sue fanciulle non ebbero canti nuziali.	63 Fire devoured their young men, their young girls had no wedding-song;
64 I suoi sacerdoti caddero di spadae le loro vedove non fecero il lamento.	64 their priests fel by the sword and their widows sang no dirge.
65 Ma poi il Signore si destò come da un sonno,come un eroe assopito dal vino.	65 The Lord arose as though he had been asleep, like a strong man fighting-mad with wine,
66 Colpì alle spalle i suoi avversari,inflisse loro una vergogna eterna.	66 he struck his enemies on the rump, and put them to everlasting shame.
67 Rifiutò la tenda di Giuseppe,non scelse la tribù di Èfraim,	67 Rejecting the tents of Joseph, passing over the tribe of Ephraim,
68 ma scelse la tribù di Giuda,il monte Sion che egli ama.	68 he chose the tribe of Judah, his wel -loved mountain of Zion;
69 Costruì il suo tempio alto come il cielo,e come la terra, fondata per sempre.	69 he built his sanctuary like high hil s, like the earth set it firm for ever.
70 Egli scelse Davide suo servoe lo prese dagli ovili delle pecore.	70 He chose David to be his servant, took him from the sheepfold,
71 Lo allontanò dalle pecore madriper farne il pastore di Giacobbe, suo popolo,d’Israele, sua eredità.	71 took him from tending ewes to pasture his servant Jacob, and Israel his heritage.
72 Fu per loro un pastore dal cuore integroe li guidò con mano intelligente.	72 He pastured them with unblemished heart, with a sensitive hand he led them.
