1 Salmo. Di Asaf.Quanto è buono Dio con gli uomini retti,Dio con i puri di cuore!	1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.
2 Ma io per poco non inciampavo,quasi vacillavano i miei passi,	2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,
3 perché ho invidiato i prepotenti,vedendo il successo dei malvagi.	3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Fino alla morte infatti non hanno sofferenzee ben pasciuto è il loro ventre.	4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;
5 Non si trovano mai nell’affanno dei mortalie non sono colpiti come gli altri uomini.	5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.
6 Dell’orgoglio si fanno una collanae indossano come abito la violenza.	6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.
7 I loro occhi sporgono dal grasso,dal loro cuore escono follie.	7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.
8 Scherniscono e parlano con malizia,parlano dall’alto con prepotenza.	8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.
9 Aprono la loro bocca fino al cieloe la loro lingua percorre la terra.	9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.
10 Perciò il loro popolo li seguee beve la loro acqua in abbondanza.	10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,
11 E dicono: «Dio, come può saperlo?L’Altissimo, come può conoscerlo?».	11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'
12 Ecco, così sono i malvagi:sempre al sicuro, ammassano ricchezze.	12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.
13 Invano dunque ho conservato puro il mio cuore,e ho lavato nell’innocenza le mie mani!	13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?
14 Perché sono colpito tutto il giornoe fin dal mattino sono castigato?	14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,
15 Se avessi detto: «Parlerò come loro»,avrei tradito la generazione dei tuoi figli.	15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.
16 Riflettevo per comprendere questoma fu una fatica ai miei occhi,	16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!
17 finché non entrai nel santuario di Dioe compresi quale sarà la loro fine.	17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.
18 Ecco, li poni in luoghi scivolosi,li fai cadere in rovina.	18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.
19 Sono distrutti in un istante!Sono finiti, consumati dai terrori!	19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!
20 Come un sogno al risveglio, Signore,così, quando sorgi, fai svanire la loro immagine.	20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.
21 Quando era amareggiato il mio cuoree i miei reni trafitti dal dolore,	21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,
22 io ero insensato e non capivo,stavo davanti a te come una bestia.	22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.
23 Ma io sono sempre con te:tu mi hai preso per la mano destra.	23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;
24 Mi guiderai secondo i tuoi disegnie poi mi accoglierai nella gloria.	24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.
25 Chi avrò per me nel cielo?Con te non desidero nulla sulla terra.	25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.
26 Vengono meno la mia carne e il mio cuore;ma Dio è roccia del mio cuore,mia parte per sempre.	26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!
27 Ecco, si perderà chi da te si allontana;tu distruggi chiunque ti è infedele.	27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,
28 Per me, il mio bene è stare vicino a Dio;nel Signore Dio ho posto il mio rifugio,per narrare tutte le tue opere.	28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.
