1 Di Davide. Quando si finse pazzo in presenza di Abimèlec, tanto che questi lo scacciò ed egli se ne andò.	1 Of David, when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who forced him to depart.
2 (Alef) Benedirò il Signore in ogni tempo,sulla mia bocca sempre la sua lode.	2 I will bless the LORD at all times; praise shall be always in my mouth.
3 (Bet) Io mi glorio nel Signore:i poveri ascoltino e si rallegrino.	3 My soul will glory in the LORD that the poor may hear and be glad.
4 (Ghimel) Magnificate con me il Signore,esaltiamo insieme il suo nome.	4 Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
5 (Dalet) Ho cercato il Signore: mi ha rispostoe da ogni mia paura mi ha liberato.	5 I sought the LORD, who answered me, delivered me from all my fears.
6 (He) Guardate a lui e sarete raggianti,i vostri volti non dovranno arrossire.	6 Look to God that you may be radiant with joy and your faces may not blush for shame.
7 (Zain) Questo povero grida e il Signore lo ascolta,lo salva da tutte le sue angosce.	7 In my misfortune I called, the LORD heard and saved me from all distress.
8 (Het) L’angelo del Signore si accampaattorno a quelli che lo temono, e li libera.	8 The angel of the LORD, who encamps with them, delivers all who fear God.
9 (Tet) Gustate e vedete com’è buono il Signore;beato l’uomo che in lui si rifugia.	9 Learn to savor how good the LORD is; happy are those who take refuge in him.
10 (Iod) Temete il Signore, suoi santi:nulla manca a coloro che lo temono.	10 Fear the LORD, you holy ones; nothing is lacking to those who fear him.
11 (Caf) I leoni sono miseri e affamati,ma a chi cerca il Signore non manca alcun bene.	11 The powerful grow poor and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
12 (Lamed) Venite, figli, ascoltatemi:vi insegnerò il timore del Signore.	12 Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
13 (Mem) Chi è l’uomo che desidera la vitae ama i giorni in cui vedere il bene?	13 Who among you loves life, takes delight in prosperous days?
14 (Nun) Custodisci la lingua dal male,le labbra da parole di menzogna.	14 Keep your tongue from evil, your lips from speaking lies.
15 (Samec) Sta’ lontano dal male e fa’ il bene,cerca e persegui la pace.	15 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
16 (Ain) Gli occhi del Signore sui giusti,i suoi orecchi al loro grido di aiuto.	16 The LORD has eyes for the just and ears for their cry.
17 (Pe) Il volto del Signore contro i malfattori,per eliminarne dalla terra il ricordo.	17 The LORD'S face is against evildoers to wipe out their memory from the earth.
18 (Sade) Gridano e il Signore li ascolta,li libera da tutte le loro angosce.	18 When the just cry out, the LORD hears and rescues them from all distress.
19 (Kof) Il Signore è vicino a chi ha il cuore spezzato,egli salva gli spiriti affranti.	19 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, saves those whose spirit is crushed.
20 (Res) Molti sono i mali del giusto,ma da tutti lo libera il Signore.	20 Many are the troubles of the just, but the LORD delivers from them all.
21 (Sin) Custodisce tutte le sue ossa:neppure uno sarà spezzato.	21 God watches over all their bones; not a one shall be broken.
22 (Tau) Il male fa morire il malvagioe chi odia il giusto sarà condannato.	22 Evil will slay the wicked; those who hate the just are condemned.
23 Il Signore riscatta la vita dei suoi servi; non sarà condannato chi in lui si rifugia.	23 The LORD redeems loyal servants; no one is condemned whose refuge is God.
