1 Magistro chori. Secundum " Ne destruxeris ". David. Miktam. Quando a Saul in cavernam fugit.	1 For the director. Do not destroy. A miktam of David, when he fled from Saul into a cave.
2 Miserere mei, Deus, miserere mei, quoniam in te confugit anima mea; et in umbra alarum tuarum confugiam, donec transeant insidiae.	2 Have mercy on me, God, have mercy on me. In you I seek shelter. In the shadow of your wings I seek shelter till harm pass by.
3 Clamabo ad Deum Altissimum, Deum, qui benefecit mihi.	3 I call to God Most High, to God who provides for me.
4 Mittet de caelo et liberabit me; dabit in opprobrium conculcantes me. Mittet Deus misericordiam suam et veritatem suam.	4 May God send help from heaven to save me, shame those who trample upon me. May God send fidelity and love. Selah
5 Anima mea recumbit in medio catulorum leonum devorantium filios hominum. Dentes eorum arma et sagittae, et lingua eorum gladius acutus.	5 I must lie down in the midst of lions hungry for human prey. Their teeth are spears and arrows; their tongue, a sharpened sword.
6 Exaltare super caelos, Deus, super omnem terram gloria tua.	6 Show yourself over the heavens, God; may your glory appear above all the earth.

9 cantabo et psalmum dicam. Exsurge, gloria mea; exsurge, psalterium et cithara, excitabo auroram.	9 Awake, my soul; awake, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn.

11 quoniam magnificata est usque ad caelos misericordia tua, et usque ad nubes veritas tua.	11 For your love towers to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies.
