BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Chi abita al riparo dell’Altissimopasserà la notte all’ombra dell’Onnipotente.	1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,
2 Io dico al Signore: «Mio rifugio e mia fortezza,mio Dio in cui confido».	2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'
3 Egli ti libererà dal laccio del cacciatore,dalla peste che distrugge.	3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;
4 Ti coprirà con le sue penne,sotto le sue ali troverai rifugio;la sua fedeltà ti sarà scudo e corazza.	4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.
5 Non temerai il terrore della nottené la freccia che vola di giorno,	5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,
6 la peste che vaga nelle tenebre,lo sterminio che devasta a mezzogiorno.	6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.
7 Mille cadranno al tuo fiancoe diecimila alla tua destra,ma nulla ti potrà colpire.	7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.
8 Basterà che tu apra gli occhie vedrai la ricompensa dei malvagi!	8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,
9 «Sì, mio rifugio sei tu, o Signore!».Tu hai fatto dell’Altissimo la tua dimora:	9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.
10 non ti potrà colpire la sventura,nessun colpo cadrà sulla tua tenda.	10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;
11 Egli per te darà ordine ai suoi angelidi custodirti in tutte le tue vie.	11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.
12 Sulle mani essi ti porteranno,perché il tuo piede non inciampi nella pietra.	12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.
13 Calpesterai leoni e vipere,schiaccerai leoncelli e draghi.	13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.
14 «Lo libererò, perché a me si è legato,lo porrò al sicuro, perché ha conosciuto il mio nome.	14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.
15 Mi invocherà e io gli darò risposta;nell’angoscia io sarò con lui,lo libererò e lo renderò glorioso.	15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.
16 Lo sazierò di lunghi giornie gli farò vedere la mia salvezza».	16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'
