Magistro chori. David. Psalmus. Domine, scrutatus es et cognovisti me, | 1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David. |
tu cognovisti sessionem meam et resurrectionem meam. Intellexisti cogitationes meas de longe, | 2 Rescue me, O Lord, from the evil man. Rescue me from the iniquitous leader. |
semitam meam et accubitum meum investigasti. Et omnes vias meas perspexisti, | 3 Those who have devised iniquities in their hearts: all day long they constructed conflicts. |
quia nondum est sermo in lingua mea, et ecce, Domine, tu novisti omnia. | 4 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. The venom of asps is under their lips. |
A tergo et a fronte coartasti me et posuisti super me manum tuam. | 5 Preserve me, O Lord, from the hand of the sinner, and rescue me from men of iniquity. They have decided to supplant my steps. |
Mirabilis nimis facta est scientia tua super me, sublimis, et non attingam eam. | 6 The arrogant have hidden a snare for me. And they have stretched out cords for a snare. They have placed a stumbling block for me near the road. |
Quo ibo a spiritu tuo et quo a facie tua fugiam? | 7 I said to the Lord: You are my God. O Lord, heed the voice of my supplication. |
Si ascendero in caelum, tu illic es; si descendero in infernum, ades. | 8 Lord, O Lord, the strength of my salvation: you have overshadowed my head in the day of war. |
Si sumpsero pennas aurorae et habitavero in extremis maris, | 9 O Lord, do not hand me over to the sinner by my desire. They have plotted against me. Do not abandon me, lest they should triumph. |
etiam illuc manus tua deducet me, et tenebit me dextera tua. | 10 The head of those who encompass me, the labor of their lips, will overwhelm them. |
Si dixero: “ Forsitan tenebrae compriment me, et nox illuminatio erit circa me ”, | 11 Burning coals will fall upon them. You will cast them down into the fire, into miseries that they will not be able to withstand. |
etiam tenebrae non obscurabuntur a te, et nox sicut dies illuminabitur - sicut tenebrae eius ita et lumen eius -. | 12 A talkative man will not be guided aright upon the earth. Evils will drag the unjust man unto utter ruin. |
Quia tu formasti renes meos, contexuisti me in utero matris meae. | 13 I know that the Lord will accomplish justice for the needy and vindication for the poor. |
Confitebor tibi, quia mirabiliter plasmatus sum; mirabilia opera tua, et anima mea cognoscit nimis. | 14 So then, truly, the just will confess your name, and the upright will dwell with your countenance. |
Utinam occidas, Deus, peccatores; viri sanguinum, declinate a me.
Qui loquuntur contra te maligne: exaltantur in vanum contra te.
Nonne, qui oderunt te, Domine, oderam et insurgentes in te abhorrebam?
Perfecto odio oderam illos, et inimici facti sunt mihi.
Scrutare me, Deus, et scito cor meum; proba me et cognosce semitas meas
et vide, si via vanitatis in me est, et deduc me in via aeterna. |
