1 Preghiera. Di Mosè, uomo di Dio.Signore, tu sei stato per noi un rifugiodi generazione in generazione.	1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been our refuge through all generations.
2 Prima che nascessero i montie la terra e il mondo fossero generati,da sempre e per sempre tu sei, o Dio.	2 Before the mountains were born, the earth and the world brought forth, from eternity to eternity you are God.
3 Tu fai ritornare l’uomo in polvere,quando dici: «Ritornate, figli dell’uomo».	3 But humans you return to dust, saying, "Return, you mortals!"
4 Mille anni, ai tuoi occhi,sono come il giorno di ieri che è passato,come un turno di veglia nella notte.	4 A thousand years in your eyes are merely a yesterday,
5 Tu li sommergi:sono come un sogno al mattino,come l’erba che germoglia;	5 you have brought them to their end; They disappear like sleep at dawn; they are like grass that dies.
6 al mattino fiorisce e germoglia,alla sera è falciata e secca.	6 It sprouts green in the morning; by evening it is dry and withered.
7 Sì, siamo distrutti dalla tua ira,atterriti dal tuo furore!	7 Truly we are consumed by your anger, filled with terror by your wrath.
8 Davanti a te poni le nostre colpe,i nostri segreti alla luce del tuo volto.	8 You have kept our faults before you, our hidden sins exposed to your sight.
9 Tutti i nostri giorni svaniscono per la tua collera,consumiamo i nostri anni come un soffio.	9 Our life ebbs away under your wrath; our years end like a sigh.
10 Gli anni della nostra vita sono settanta,ottanta per i più robusti,e il loro agitarsi è fatica e delusione;passano presto e noi voliamo via.	10 Seventy is the sum of our years, or eighty, if we are strong; Most of them are sorrow and toil; they pass quickly, we are all but gone.
11 Chi conosce l’impeto della tua irae, nel timore di te, la tua collera?	11 Who comprehends your terrible anger? Your wrath matches the fear it inspires.
12 Insegnaci a contare i nostri giornie acquisteremo un cuore saggio.	12 Teach us to count our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart.
13 Ritorna, Signore: fino a quando?Abbi pietà dei tuoi servi!	13 Relent, O LORD! How long? Have pity on your servants!
14 Saziaci al mattino con il tuo amore:esulteremo e gioiremo per tutti i nostri giorni.	14 Fill us at daybreak with your love, that all our days we may sing for joy.
15 Rendici la gioia per i giorni in cui ci hai afflitti,per gli anni in cui abbiamo visto il male.	15 Make us glad as many days as you humbled us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 Si manifesti ai tuoi servi la tua operae il tuo splendore ai loro figli.	16 Show your deeds to your servants, your glory to their children.
17 Sia su di noi la dolcezza del Signore, nostro Dio:rendi salda per noi l’opera delle nostre mani,l’opera delle nostre mani rendi salda.	17 May the favor of the Lord our God be ours. Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands!
