1 Magistro chori. Maskil. David,	1 when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.
2 postquam Doeg Edomita ad Saul venit eique narravit dicens: " David intravit in domum Abimelech ".	2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp rasor, working deceitfully.
3 Quid gloriaris in malitia, qui potens es iniquitate?	3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 Tota die insidias cogitasti; lingua tua sicut novacula acuta, qui facis dolum.	4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 Dilexisti malitiam super benignitatem, mendacium magis quam loqui aequitatem.	5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 Dilexisti omnia verba perditionis, lingua dolosa.	6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
7 Propterea Deus destruet te in finem; evellet te et emigrabit te de tabernaculo et radicem tuam de terra viventium.	7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 Videbunt iusti et timebunt et super eum ridebunt:	8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9 “ Ecce homo, qui non posuit Deum refugium suum, sed speravit in multitudine divitiarum suarum et praevaluit in insidiis suis ”.	9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
10 Ego autem sicut virens oliva in domo Dei. Speravi in misericordia Dei in aeternum et in saeculum saeculi.
11 Confitebor tibi in saeculum, quia fecisti; et exspectabo nomen tuum, quoniam bonum est, in conspectu sanctorum tuorum.
