1 Al maestro del coro. Su «La morte del figlio». Salmo. Di Davide.	1 [For the choirmaster On oboe and harp Psalm Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with my whole heart, Irecount al your wonders,
2 (Alef) Renderò grazie al Signore con tutto il cuore,annuncerò tutte le tue meraviglie.	2 I rejoice and delight in you, I sing to your name, Most High.
3 Gioirò ed esulterò in te,canterò inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo,	3 My enemies are in retreat, they stumble and perish at your presence,
4 (Bet) mentre i miei nemici tornano indietro,davanti a te inciampano e scompaiono,	4 for you have given fair judgement in my favour, seated on your throne as upright judge.
5 perché hai sostenuto il mio diritto e la mia causa:ti sei seduto in trono come giudice giusto.	5 You have rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, blotted out their name for ever and ever;
6 (Ghimel) Hai minacciato le nazioni, hai sterminato il malvagio,il loro nome hai cancellato in eterno, per sempre.	6 the enemy is wiped out -- mere ruins for ever -- you have annihilated their cities, their memory hasperished. See,
7 Il nemico è battuto, ridotto a rovine per sempre.È scomparso il ricordo delle città che hai distrutto.	7 Yahweh is enthroned for ever, keeping his throne firm for judgement;
8 (He) Ma il Signore siede in eterno,stabilisce il suo trono per il giudizio:	8 he wil himself judge the world in uprightness, wil give a true verdict on the nations.
9 governerà il mondo con giustizia,giudicherà i popoli con rettitudine.	9 May Yahweh be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble!
10 (Vau) Il Signore sarà un rifugio per l’oppresso,un rifugio nei momenti di angoscia.	10 Those who revere your name can rely on you, you never desert those who seek you, Yahweh.
11 Confidino in te quanti conoscono il tuo nome,perché tu non abbandoni chi ti cerca, Signore.	11 Sing to Yahweh who dwel s in Zion, tel the nations his mighty deeds,
12 (Zain) Cantate inni al Signore, che abita in Sion,narrate le sue imprese tra i popoli,	12 for the avenger of blood does not forget them, he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
13 perché egli chiede conto del sangue versato,se ne ricorda, non dimentica il grido dei poveri.	13 Have pity on me, Yahweh, see my affliction, pull me back from the gates of death,
14 (Het) Abbi pietà di me, Signore,vedi la mia miseria, opera dei miei nemici,tu che mi fai risalire dalle porte della morte,	14 that I may recount al your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion and rejoice in your salvation.
15 perché io possa annunciare tutte le tue lodi;alle porte della figlia di Sionesulterò per la tua salvezza.	15 The nations have fal en into the trap they made, their feet caught in the snare they laid.
16 (Tet) Sono sprofondate le genti nella fossa che hanno scavato,nella rete che hanno nascosto si è impigliato il loro piede.	16 Yahweh has made himself known, given judgement, he has ensnared the wicked in the work of theirown hands.Muted music Pause
17 Il Signore si è fatto conoscere, ha reso giustizia;il malvagio è caduto nella rete, opera delle sue mani.	17 May the wicked turn away to Sheol, al the nations forgetful of God.
18 (Iod) Tornino i malvagi negli inferi,tutte le genti che dimenticano Dio.	18 For the needy is not forgotten for ever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing.
19 (Caf) Perché il misero non sarà mai dimenticato,la speranza dei poveri non sarà mai delusa.	19 Arise, Yahweh; human strength shal not prevail. The nations shal stand trial before you.
20 Sorgi, Signore, non prevalga l’uomo:davanti a te siano giudicate le genti.	20 Strike them with terror, Yahweh; the nations shall know that they are no more than human!Pause
21 Riempile di spavento, Signore,riconoscano le genti di essere mortali.
