1 Maskil. Di Etan, l’Ezraita.	1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 Canterò in eterno l’amore del Signore,di generazione in generazionefarò conoscere con la mia bocca la tua fedeltà,	2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3 perché ho detto: «È un amore edificato per sempre;nel cielo rendi stabile la tua fedeltà».	3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4 «Ho stretto un’alleanza con il mio eletto,ho giurato a Davide, mio servo.	4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
5 Stabilirò per sempre la tua discendenza,di generazione in generazione edificherò il tuo trono».	5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 I cieli cantano le tue meraviglie, Signore,la tua fedeltà nell’assemblea dei santi.	6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
7 Chi sulle nubi è uguale al Signore,chi è simile al Signore tra i figli degli dèi?	7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
8 Dio è tremendo nel consiglio dei santi,grande e terribile tra quanti lo circondano.	8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
9 Chi è come te, Signore, Dio degli eserciti?Potente Signore, la tua fedeltà ti circonda.	9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10 Tu domini l’orgoglio del mare,tu plachi le sue onde tempestose.	10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
11 Tu hai ferito e calpestato Raab,con braccio potente hai disperso i tuoi nemici.	11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
12 Tuoi sono i cieli, tua è la terra,tu hai fondato il mondo e quanto contiene;	12 The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
13 il settentrione e il mezzogiorno tu li hai creati,il Tabor e l’Ermon cantano il tuo nome.	13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
14 Tu hai un braccio potente,forte è la tua mano, alta la tua destra.	14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15 Giustizia e diritto sono la base del tuo trono,amore e fedeltà precedono il tuo volto.	15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
16 Beato il popolo che ti sa acclamare:camminerà, Signore, alla luce del tuo volto;	16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 esulta tutto il giorno nel tuo nome,si esalta nella tua giustizia.	17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
18 Perché tu sei lo splendore della sua forzae con il tuo favore innalzi la nostra fronte.	18 For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19 Perché del Signore è il nostro scudo,il nostro re, del Santo d’Israele.	19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 Un tempo parlasti in visione ai tuoi fedeli, dicendo:«Ho portato aiuto a un prode,ho esaltato un eletto tra il mio popolo.	20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 Ho trovato Davide, mio servo,con il mio santo olio l’ho consacrato;	21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22 la mia mano è il suo sostegno,il mio braccio è la sua forza.	22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 Su di lui non trionferà il nemiconé l’opprimerà l’uomo perverso.	23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24 Annienterò davanti a lui i suoi nemicie colpirò quelli che lo odiano.	24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 La mia fedeltà e il mio amore saranno con luie nel mio nome s’innalzerà la sua fronte.	25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 Farò estendere sul mare la sua manoe sui fiumi la sua destra.	26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Egli mi invocherà: “Tu sei mio padre,mio Dio e roccia della mia salvezza”.	27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 Io farò di lui il mio primogenito,il più alto fra i re della terra.	28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 Gli conserverò sempre il mio amore,la mia alleanza gli sarà fedele.	29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 Stabilirò per sempre la sua discendenza,il suo trono come i giorni del cielo.	30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 Se i suoi figli abbandoneranno la mia leggee non seguiranno i miei decreti,	31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
32 se violeranno i miei statutie non osserveranno i miei comandi,	32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 punirò con la verga la loro ribellionee con flagelli la loro colpa.	33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
34 Ma non annullerò il mio amoree alla mia fedeltà non verrò mai meno.	34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 Non profanerò la mia alleanza,non muterò la mia promessa.	35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36 Sulla mia santità ho giurato una volta per sempre:certo non mentirò a Davide.	36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37 In eterno durerà la sua discendenza,il suo trono davanti a me quanto il sole,	37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
38 sempre saldo come la luna,testimone fedele nel cielo».	38 But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
39 Ma tu lo hai respinto e disonorato,ti sei adirato contro il tuo consacrato;	39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
40 hai infranto l’alleanza con il tuo servo,hai profanato nel fango la sua corona.	40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
41 Hai aperto brecce in tutte le sue murae ridotto in rovine le sue fortezze;	41 All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
42 tutti i passanti lo hanno depredato,è divenuto lo scherno dei suoi vicini.	42 Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Hai esaltato la destra dei suoi rivali,hai fatto esultare tutti i suoi nemici.	43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
44 Hai smussato il filo della sua spadae non l’hai sostenuto nella battaglia.	44 Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
45 Hai posto fine al suo splendore,hai rovesciato a terra il suo trono.	45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.
46 Hai abbreviato i giorni della sua giovinezzae lo hai coperto di vergogna.	46 How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
47 Fino a quando, Signore, ti terrai nascosto: per sempre?Arderà come fuoco la tua collera?	47 Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?
48 Ricorda quanto è breve la mia vita:invano forse hai creato ogni uomo?	48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
49 Chi è l’uomo che vive e non vede la morte?Chi potrà sfuggire alla mano degli inferi?	49 Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?
50 Dov’è, Signore, il tuo amore di un tempo,che per la tua fedeltà hai giurato a Davide?	50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
51 Ricorda, Signore, l’oltraggio fatto ai tuoi servi:porto nel cuore le ingiurie di molti popoli,	51 Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
52 con le quali, Signore, i tuoi nemici insultano,insultano i passi del tuo consacrato.	52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
53 Benedetto il Signore in eterno.Amen, amen.
