2 Liberami dai nemici, mio Dio,difendimi dai miei aggressori.	2 Rescue me from my enemies, my God; lift me out of reach of my foes.
3 Liberami da chi fa il male,salvami da chi sparge sangue.	3 Deliver me from evildoers; from the bloodthirsty save me.
4 Ecco, insidiano la mia vita,contro di me congiurano i potenti.Non c’è delitto in me, non c’è peccato, Signore;	4 They have set an ambush for my life; the powerful conspire against me. For no offense or misdeed of mine, LORD,
5 senza mia colpa accorrono e si schierano.Svégliati, vienimi incontro e guarda.	5 for no fault they hurry to take up arms. Come near and see my plight!
6 Tu, Signore, Dio degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele,àlzati a punire tutte le genti;non avere pietà dei perfidi traditori.	6 You, LORD of hosts, are the God of Israel! Awake! Punish all the nations. Have no mercy on these worthless traitors. Selah
7 Ritornano a sera e ringhiano come cani,si aggirano per la città.	7 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.
8 Eccoli, la bava alla bocca;le loro labbra sono spade.Dicono: «Chi ci ascolta?».	8 Their mouths pour out insult; sharp words are on their lips. They say: "Who is there to hear?"
9 Ma tu, Signore, ridi di loro,ti fai beffe di tutte le genti.	9 You, LORD, laugh at them; you deride all the nations.
10 Io veglio per te, mia forza,perché Dio è la mia difesa.	10 My strength, for you I watch; you, God, are my fortress,
11 Il mio Dio mi preceda con il suo amore;Dio mi farà guardare dall’alto i miei nemici.	11 my loving God.
12 Non ucciderli, perché il mio popolo non dimentichi;disperdili con la tua potenza e abbattili,Signore, nostro scudo.	12 May God go before me, and show me my fallen foes. Slay them, God, lest they deceive my people. Shake them by your power; Lord, our shield, bring them down.
13 Peccato della loro bocca è la parola delle loro labbra;essi cadono nel laccio del loro orgoglio,per le bestemmie e le menzogne che pronunciano.	13 For the sinful words of their mouths and lips let them be caught in their pride. For the lies they have told under oath
14 Annientali con furore,annientali e più non esistano,e sappiano che Dio governa in Giacobbe,sino ai confini della terra.	14 destroy them in anger, destroy till they are no more. Then people will know God rules over Jacob, yes, even to the ends of the earth. Selah
15 Ritornano a sera e ringhiano come cani,si aggirano per la città;	15 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.
16 ecco, vagano in cerca di cibo,ringhiano se non possono saziarsi.	16 They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl.
17 Ma io canterò la tua forza,esalterò la tua fedeltà al mattino,perché sei stato mia difesa,mio rifugio nel giorno della mia angoscia.	17 But I shall sing of your strength, extol your love at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble.
18 O mia forza, a te voglio cantare,poiché tu sei, o Dio, la mia difesa,Dio della mia fedeltà.	18 My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God.
