2 Quando l’idumeo Doeg andò da Saul per informarlo e dirgli: «Davide è entrato in casa di Achimèlec».	2 when Doeg the Edomite went and told Saul, "David went to the house of Ahimelech."
3 Perché ti vanti del male, o prepotente?Dio è fedele ogni giorno.	3 Why do you glory in evil, you scandalous liar? All day long
4 Tu escogiti insidie;la tua lingua è come lama affilata,o artefice d’inganni!	4 you plot destruction; your tongue is like a sharpened razor, you skillful deceiver.
5 Tu ami il male invece del bene,la menzogna invece della giustizia.	5 You love evil rather than good, lies rather than honest speech. Selah
6 Tu ami ogni parola che distrugge,o lingua d’inganno.	6 You love any word that destroys, you deceitful tongue.
7 Perciò Dio ti demolirà per sempre,ti spezzerà e ti strapperà dalla tendae ti sradicherà dalla terra dei viventi.	7 Now God will strike you down, leave you crushed forever, Pluck you from your tent, uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
8 I giusti vedranno e avranno timoree di lui rideranno:	8 The righteous will look on with awe; they will jeer and say:
9 «Ecco l’uomo che non ha posto Dio come sua fortezza,ma ha confidato nella sua grande ricchezzae si è fatto forte delle sue insidie».	9 "That one did not take God as a refuge, but trusted in great wealth, relied on devious plots."
10 Ma io, come olivo verdeggiante nella casa di Dio,confido nella fedeltà di Dioin eterno e per sempre.	10 But I, like an olive tree in the house of God, trust in God's faithful love forever.
11 Voglio renderti grazie in eternoper quanto hai operato;spero nel tuo nome, perché è buono,davanti ai tuoi fedeli.	11 I will praise you always for what you have done. I will proclaim before the faithful that your name is good.
