1 Al maestro del coro. Maskil. Di Davide.	1 when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.
2 Quando l’idumeo Doeg andò da Saul per informarlo e dirgli: «Davide è entrato in casa di Achimèlec».	2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp rasor, working deceitfully.
3 Perché ti vanti del male, o prepotente?Dio è fedele ogni giorno.	3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 Tu escogiti insidie;la tua lingua è come lama affilata,o artefice d’inganni!	4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 Tu ami il male invece del bene,la menzogna invece della giustizia.	5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 Tu ami ogni parola che distrugge,o lingua d’inganno.	6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
7 Perciò Dio ti demolirà per sempre,ti spezzerà e ti strapperà dalla tendae ti sradicherà dalla terra dei viventi.	7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 I giusti vedranno e avranno timoree di lui rideranno:	8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9 «Ecco l’uomo che non ha posto Dio come sua fortezza,ma ha confidato nella sua grande ricchezzae si è fatto forte delle sue insidie».	9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
10 Ma io, come olivo verdeggiante nella casa di Dio,confido nella fedeltà di Dioin eterno e per sempre.
11 Voglio renderti grazie in eternoper quanto hai operato;spero nel tuo nome, perché è buono,davanti ai tuoi fedeli.
