2 Quando il profeta Natan andò da lui, che era andato con Betsabea.	2 when Nathan the prophet came to him after his affair with Bathsheba.
3 Pietà di me, o Dio, nel tuo amore;nella tua grande misericordiacancella la mia iniquità.	3 Have mercy on me, God, in your goodness; in your abundant compassion blot out my offense.
4 Lavami tutto dalla mia colpa,dal mio peccato rendimi puro.	4 Wash away all my guilt; from my sin cleanse me.
5 Sì, le mie iniquità io le riconosco,il mio peccato mi sta sempre dinanzi.	5 For I know my offense; my sin is always before me.
6 Contro di te, contro te solo ho peccato,quello che è male ai tuoi occhi, io l’ho fatto:così sei giusto nella tua sentenza,sei retto nel tuo giudizio.	6 Against you alone have I sinned; I have done such evil in your sight That you are just in your sentence, blameless when you condemn.
7 Ecco, nella colpa io sono nato,nel peccato mi ha concepito mia madre.	7 True, I was born guilty, a sinner, even as my mother conceived me.
8 Ma tu gradisci la sincerità nel mio intimo,nel segreto del cuore mi insegni la sapienza.	8 Still, you insist on sincerity of heart; in my inmost being teach me wisdom.
9 Aspergimi con rami d’issòpo e sarò puro;lavami e sarò più bianco della neve.	9 Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure; wash me, make me whiter than snow.
10 Fammi sentire gioia e letizia:esulteranno le ossa che hai spezzato.	10 Let me hear sounds of joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
11 Distogli lo sguardo dai miei peccati,cancella tutte le mie colpe.	11 Turn away your face from my sins; blot out all my guilt.
12 Crea in me, o Dio, un cuore puro,rinnova in me uno spirito saldo.	12 A clean heart create for me, God; renew in me a steadfast spirit.
13 Non scacciarmi dalla tua presenzae non privarmi del tuo santo spirito.	13 Do not drive me from your presence, nor take from me your holy spirit.
14 Rendimi la gioia della tua salvezza,sostienimi con uno spirito generoso.	14 Restore my joy in your salvation; sustain in me a willing spirit.
15 Insegnerò ai ribelli le tue viee i peccatori a te ritorneranno.	15 I will teach the wicked your ways, that sinners may return to you.
16 Liberami dal sangue, o Dio, Dio mia salvezza:la mia lingua esalterà la tua giustizia.	16 Rescue me from death, God, my saving God, that my tongue may praise your healing power.
17 Signore, apri le mie labbrae la mia bocca proclami la tua lode.	17 Lord, open my lips; my mouth will proclaim your praise.
18 Tu non gradisci il sacrificio;se offro olocausti, tu non li accetti.	18 For you do not desire sacrifice; a burnt offering you would not accept.
19 Uno spirito contrito è sacrificio a Dio;un cuore contrito e affranto tu, o Dio, non disprezzi.	19 My sacrifice, God, is a broken spirit; God, do not spurn a broken, humbled heart.
20 Nella tua bontà fa’ grazia a Sion,ricostruisci le mura di Gerusalemme.	20 Make Zion prosper in your good pleasure; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
21 Allora gradirai i sacrifici legittimi,l’olocausto e l’intera oblazione;allora immoleranno vittime sopra il tuo altare.	21 Then you will be pleased with proper sacrifice, burnt offerings and holocausts; then bullocks will be offered on your altar.
