1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo. Canto.	1 For the leader. A psalm of David; a song.
2 Sorga Dio e siano dispersi i suoi nemicie fuggano davanti a lui quelli che lo odiano.	2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.
3 Come si dissolve il fumo, tu li dissolvi;come si scioglie la cera di fronte al fuoco,periscono i malvagi davanti a Dio.	3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.
4 I giusti invece si rallegrano,esultano davanti a Dioe cantano di gioia.	4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.
5 Cantate a Dio, inneggiate al suo nome,appianate la strada a colui che cavalca le nubi:Signore è il suo nome,esultate davanti a lui.	5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.
6 Padre degli orfani e difensore delle vedoveè Dio nella sua santa dimora.	6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,
7 A chi è solo, Dio fa abitare una casa,fa uscire con gioia i prigionieri.Solo i ribelli dimorano in arida terra.	7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.
8 O Dio, quando uscivi davanti al tuo popolo,quando camminavi per il deserto,	8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah
9 tremò la terra, i cieli stillaronodavanti a Dio, quello del Sinai,davanti a Dio, il Dio d’Israele.	9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
10 Pioggia abbondante hai riversato, o Dio,la tua esausta eredità tu hai consolidato	10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;
11 e in essa ha abitato il tuo popolo,in quella che, nella tua bontà,hai reso sicura per il povero, o Dio.	11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.
12 Il Signore annuncia una notizia,grande schiera sono le messaggere di vittoria:	12 All you people so numerous,
13 «Fuggono, fuggono i re degli eserciti!Nel campo, presso la casa, ci si divide la preda.	13 b) Every household will share the booty,
14 Non restate a dormire nei recinti!Splendono d’argento le ali della colomba,di riflessi d’oro le sue piume».	14 c) its wings covered with yellow gold."
15 Quando l’Onnipotente là disperdeva i re,allora nevicava sul Salmon.	15 When the Almighty routed the kings there, the spoils were scattered like snow on Zalmon.
16 Montagna eccelsa è il monte di Basan,montagna dalle alte cime è il monte di Basan.	16 You high mountains of Bashan, you rugged mountains of Bashan,
17 Perché invidiate, montagne dalle alte cime,la montagna che Dio ha desiderato per sua dimora?Il Signore l’abiterà per sempre.	17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?
18 I carri di Dio sono miriadi, migliaia gli arcieri:il Signore è tra loro, sul Sinai, in santità.	18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.
19 Sei salito in alto e hai fatto prigionieri –dagli uomini hai ricevuto tributie anche dai ribelli –,perché là tu dimori, Signore Dio!	19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.
20 Di giorno in giorno benedetto il Signore:a noi Dio porta la salvezza.	20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah
21 Il nostro Dio è un Dio che salva;al Signore Dio appartengono le porte della morte.	21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.
22 Sì, Dio schiaccerà il capo dei suoi nemici,la testa dai lunghi capelli di chi percorre la via del delitto.	22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.
23 Ha detto il Signore: «Da Basan li farò tornare,li farò tornare dagli abissi del mare,	23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.
24 perché il tuo piede si bagni nel sanguee la lingua dei tuoi cani riceva la sua parte tra i nemici».	24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."
25 Appare il tuo corteo, Dio,il corteo del mio Dio, del mio re, nel santuario.	25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.
26 Precedono i cantori, seguono i suonatori di cetra,insieme a fanciulle che suonano tamburelli.	26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.
27 «Benedite Dio nelle vostre assemblee,benedite il Signore, voi della comunità d’Israele».	27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.
28 Ecco Beniamino, un piccolo che guidai capi di Giuda, la loro schiera,i capi di Zàbulon, i capi di Nèftali.	28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.
29 Mostra, o Dio, la tua forza,conferma, o Dio, quanto hai fatto per noi!	29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.
30 Per il tuo tempio, in Gerusalemme,i re ti porteranno doni.	30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.
31 Minaccia la bestia del canneto,quel branco di bufali, quell’esercito di tori,che si prostrano a idoli d’argento;disperdi i popoli che amano la guerra!	31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.
32 Verranno i grandi dall’Egitto,l’Etiopia tenderà le mani a Dio.	32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.
33 Regni della terra, cantate a Dio,cantate inni al Signore,	33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah
34 a colui che cavalca nei cieli, nei cieli eterni.Ecco, fa sentire la sua voce, una voce potente!	34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.
35 Riconoscete a Dio la sua potenza,la sua maestà sopra Israele,la sua potenza sopra le nubi.	35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.
36 Terribile tu sei, o Dio, nel tuo santuario.È lui, il Dio d’Israele, che dà forza e vigore al suo popolo.Sia benedetto Dio!	36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
