NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ALLELUIA. Laudate nomen Domini, laudate, servi Domini,	1 Al eluia! Praise the name of Yahweh, you who serve Yahweh, praise him,
2 qui statis in domo Domini, in atriis domus Dei nostri.	2 serving in the house of Yahweh, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Laudate Dominum, quia bonus Dominus; psallite nomini eius, quoniam suave.	3 Praise Yahweh, for Yahweh is good, make music for his name -- it brings joy-
4 Quoniam Iacob elegit sibi Dominus, Israel in peculium sibi.	4 for Yahweh has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.
5 Quia ego cognovi quod magnus est Dominus, et Deus noster prae omnibus diis.	5 For I know that Yahweh is great, our Lord is above al gods.
6 Omnia, quaecumque voluit, Dominus fecit in caelo et in terra, in mari et in omnibus abyssis.	6 Yahweh does whatever he pleases in heaven, on earth, in the waters and al the depths.
7 Adducens nubes ab extremo terrae, fulgura in pluviam facit, producit ventos de thesauris suis.	7 He summons up clouds from the borders of earth, sends rain with lightning-flashes, and brings thewind out of his storehouse.
8 Qui percussit primogenita Aegypti ab homine usque ad pecus.	8 He struck the first-born in Egypt, man and beast alike,
9 Misit signa et prodigia in medio tui, Aegypte, in pharaonem et in omnes servos eius.	9 he sent signs and wonders into the heart of Egypt, against Pharaoh and al his officials.
10 Qui percussit gentes multas et occidit reges fortes:	10 He struck down many nations, he slaughtered mighty kings,
11 Sehon regem Amorraeorum et Og regem Basan et omnia regna Chanaan.	11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and al the kingdoms of Canaan.
12 Et dedit terram eorum hereditatem, hereditatem Israel populo suo.	12 He gave their land as a birthright, a birthright to his people Israel.
13 Domine, nomen tuum in aeternum; Domine, memoriale tuum in generationem et generationem.	13 Yahweh, your name endures for ever, Yahweh, your memory is fresh from age to age.
14 Quia iudicabit Dominus populum suum et servorum suorum miserebitur.	14 For Yahweh vindicates his people, feels compassion for his servants.
15 Simulacra gentium argentum et aurum, opera manuum hominum.	15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands.
16 Os habent et non loquentur, oculos habent et non videbunt.	16 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,
17 Aures habent et non audient; neque enim est spiritus in ore ipsorum.	17 have ears but hear nothing, and they have no breath in their mouths.
18 Similes illis erunt, qui faciunt ea, et omnes, qui confidunt in eis.	18 Their makers wil end up like them, everyone who relies on them.
19 Domus Israel, benedicite Domino; domus Aaron, benedicite Domino;	19 House of Israel, bless Yahweh, House of Aaron, bless Yahweh,
20 domus Levi, benedicite Domino; qui timetis Dominum, benedicite Domino.	20 House of Levi, bless Yahweh, you who fear Yahweh, bless Yahweh.
21 Benedictus Dominus ex Sion, qui habitat in Ierusalem. ALLELUIA.	21 Blessed be Yahweh from Zion, he who dwel s in Jerusalem!
