1 Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.	1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] In you, Yahweh, I have taken refuge, let me never be put toshame, in your saving justice deliver me, rescue me,
2 In te, Signore, mi sono rifugiato,mai sarò deluso;difendimi per la tua giustizia.	2 turn your ear to me, make haste. Be for me a rock-fastness, a fortified citadel to save me.
3 Tendi a me il tuo orecchio,vieni presto a liberarmi.Sii per me una roccia di rifugio,un luogo fortificato che mi salva.	3 You are my rock, my rampart; true to your name, lead me and guide me!
4 Perché mia rupe e mia fortezza tu sei,per il tuo nome guidami e conducimi.	4 Draw me out of the net they have spread for me, for you are my refuge;
5 Scioglimi dal laccio che mi hanno teso,perché sei tu la mia difesa.	5 to your hands I commit my spirit, by you have I been redeemed. God of truth,
6 Alle tue mani affido il mio spirito;tu mi hai riscattato, Signore, Dio fedele.	6 you hate those who serve useless idols; but my trust is in Yahweh:
7 Tu hai in odio chi serve idoli falsi,io invece confido nel Signore.	7 I will delight and rejoice in your faithful love! You, who have seen my misery, and witnessed themiseries of my soul,
8 Esulterò e gioirò per la tua grazia,perché hai guardato alla mia miseria,hai conosciuto le angosce della mia vita;	8 have not handed me over to the enemy, but have given me freedom to roam at large.
9 non mi hai consegnato nelle mani del nemico,hai posto i miei piedi in un luogo spazioso.	9 Take pity on me, Yahweh, for I am in trouble. Vexation is gnawing away my eyes, my soul deep within me.
10 Abbi pietà di me, Signore, sono nell’affanno;per il pianto si consumano i miei occhi,la mia gola e le mie viscere.	10 For my life is worn out with sorrow, and my years with sighs. My strength gives way under my misery,and my bones are al wasted away.
11 Si logora nel dolore la mia vita,i miei anni passano nel gemito;inaridisce per la pena il mio vigoree si consumano le mie ossa.	11 The sheer number of my enemies makes me contemptible, loathsome to my neighbours, and myfriends shrink from me in horror. When people see me in the street they take to their heels.
12 Sono il rifiuto dei miei nemicie persino dei miei vicini,il terrore dei miei conoscenti;chi mi vede per strada mi sfugge.	12 I have no more place in their hearts than a corpse, or something lost.
13 Sono come un morto, lontano dal cuore;sono come un coccio da gettare.	13 Al I hear is slander -- terror wherever I turn -- as they plot together against me, scheming to take mylife.
14 Ascolto la calunnia di molti: «Terrore all’intorno!»,quando insieme contro di me congiurano,tramano per togliermi la vita.	14 But my trust is in you, Yahweh; I say, 'You are my God,'
15 Ma io confido in te, Signore;dico: «Tu sei il mio Dio,	15 every moment of my life is in your hands, rescue me from the clutches of my foes who pursue me;
16 i miei giorni sono nelle tue mani».Liberami dalla mano dei miei nemicie dai miei persecutori:	16 let your face shine on your servant, save me in your faithful love.
17 sul tuo servo fa’ splendere il tuo volto,salvami per la tua misericordia.	17 I cal on you, Yahweh, so let disgrace fal not on me, but on the wicked. Let them go down to Sheol insilence,
18 Signore, che io non debba vergognarmiper averti invocato;si vergognino i malvagi,siano ridotti al silenzio negli inferi.	18 muzzles on their lying mouths, which speak arrogantly against the upright in pride and contempt.
19 Tacciano le labbra bugiarde,che dicono insolenze contro il giustocon orgoglio e disprezzo.	19 Yahweh, what quantities of good things you have in store for those who fear you, and bestow onthose who make you their refuge, for al humanity to see.
20 Quanto è grande la tua bontà, Signore!La riservi per coloro che ti temono,la dispensi, davanti ai figli dell’uomo,a chi in te si rifugia.	20 Safe in your presence you hide them, far from human plotting, shielding them in your tent, far fromcontentious tongues.
21 Tu li nascondi al riparo del tuo volto,lontano dagli intrighi degli uomini;li metti al sicuro nella tua tenda,lontano dai litigi delle lingue.	21 Blessed be Yahweh who works for me miracles of his faithful love (in a fortified city)!
22 Benedetto il Signore,che per me ha fatto meraviglie di graziain una città fortificata.	22 In a state of terror I cried, 'I have been cut off from your sight!' Yet you heard my plea for help when Icried out to you.
23 Io dicevo, nel mio sgomento:«Sono escluso dalla tua presenza».Tu invece hai ascoltato la voce della mia preghieraquando a te gridavo aiuto.	23 Love Yahweh, al his faithful: Yahweh protects his loyal servants, but he repays the arrogant withinterest.
24 Amate il Signore, voi tutti suoi fedeli;il Signore protegge chi ha fiducia in luie ripaga in abbondanza chi opera con superbia.	24 Be brave, take heart, al who put your hope in Yahweh.
25 Siate forti, rendete saldo il vostro cuore,voi tutti che sperate nel Signore.
