NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canticum ascensionum. De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine;	1 [Song of Ascents] From the depths I cal to you, Yahweh:
2 Domine, exaudi vocem meam. Fiant aures tuae intendentes in vocem deprecationis meae.	2 Lord, hear my cry. Listen attentively to the sound of my pleading!
3 Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine, Domine, quis sustinebit?	3 If you kept a record of our sins, Lord, who could stand their ground?
4 Quia apud te propitiatio est, ut timeamus te.	4 But with you is forgiveness, that you may be revered.
5 Sustinui te, Domine, sustinuit anima mea in verbo eius; speravit	5 I rely, my whole being relies, Yahweh, on your promise.
6 anima mea in Domino magis quam custodes auroram. Magis quam custodes auroram	6 My whole being hopes in the Lord, more than watchmen for daybreak; more than watchmen fordaybreak
7 speret Israel in Domino, quia apud Dominum misericordia, et copiosa apud eum redemptio.	7 let Israel hope in Yahweh. For with Yahweh is faithful love, with him generous ransom;
8 Et ipse redimet Israel ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius.	8 and he wil ransom Israel from al its sins.
