Magistro chori. Psalmus. David. | 1 For the leader. A psalm of David. |
In te, Domine, speravi, non confundar in aeternum; in iustitia tua libera me. | 2 In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame. In your justice deliver me; |
Inclina ad me aurem tuam, accelera, ut eruas me. Esto mihi in rupem praesidii et in domum munitam, ut salvum me facias. | 3 incline your ear to me; make haste to rescue me! Be my rock of refuge, a stronghold to save me. |
Quoniam fortitudo mea et refugium meum es tu et propter nomen tuum deduces me et pasces me. | 4 You are my rock and my fortress; for your name's sake lead and guide me. |
Educes me de laqueo, quem absconderunt mihi, quoniam tu es fortitudo mea. | 5 Free me from the net they have set for me, for you are my refuge. |
In manus tuas commendo spiritum meum; redemisti me, Domine, Deus veritatis. | 6 Into your hands I commend my spirit; you will redeem me, LORD, faithful God. |
Odisti observantes vanitates supervacuas, ego autem in Domino speravi. | 7 You hate those who serve worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD. |
Exsultabo et laetabor in misericordia tua, quoniam respexisti humilitatem meam; agnovisti necessitates animae meae | 8 I will rejoice and be glad in your love, once you have seen my misery, observed my distress. |
nec conclusisti me in manibus inimici; statuisti in loco spatioso pedes meos. | 9 You will not abandon me into enemy hands, but will set my feet in a free and open space. |
Miserere mei, Domine, quoniam tribulor; conturbatus est in maerore oculus meus, anima mea et venter meus. | 10 Be gracious to me, LORD, for I am in distress; with grief my eyes are wasted, my soul and body spent. |
Quoniam defecit in dolore vita mea, et anni mei in gemitibus; infirmata est in paupertate virtus mea, et ossa mea contabuerunt. | 11 My life is worn out by sorrow, my years by sighing. My strength fails in affliction; my bones are consumed. |
Apud omnes inimicos meos factus sum opprobrium et vicinis meis valde et timor notis meis: qui videbant me foras, fugiebant a me. | 12 To all my foes I am a thing of scorn, to my neighbors, a dreaded sight, a horror to my friends. When they see me in the street, they quickly shy away. |
Oblivioni a corde datus sum tamquam mortuus; factus sum tamquam vas perditum. | 13 I am forgotten, out of mind like the dead; I am like a shattered dish. |
Quoniam audivi vituperationem multorum: horror in circuitu; in eo dum convenirent simul adversum me, auferre animam meam consiliati sunt. | 14 I hear the whispers of the crowd; terrors are all around me. They conspire against me; they plot to take my life. |
Ego autem in te speravi, Domine; dixi: “ Deus meus es tu, | 15 But I trust in you, LORD; I say, "You are my God." |
in manibus tuis sortes meae ”. Eripe me de manu inimicorum meorum et a persequentibus me; | 16 My times are in your hands; rescue me from my enemies, from the hands of my pursuers. |
illustra faciem tuam super servum tuum, salvum me fac in misericordia tua. | 17 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your kindness. |
Domine, non confundar, quoniam invocavi te; erubescant impii et obmutescant in inferno. | 18 Do not let me be put to shame, for I have called to you, LORD. Put the wicked to shame; reduce them to silence in Sheol. |
Muta fiant labia dolosa, quae loquuntur adversus iustum proterva in superbia et in abusione. | 19 Strike dumb their lying lips, proud lips that attack the just in contempt and scorn. |
Quam magna multitudo dulcedinis tuae, Domine, quam abscondisti timentibus te. Perfecisti eis, qui sperant in te, in conspectu filiorum hominum. | 20 How great is your goodness, Lord, stored up for those who fear you. You display it for those who trust you, in the sight of all the people. |
Abscondes eos in abscondito faciei tuae a conturbatione hominum; proteges eos in tabernaculo a contradictione linguarum. | 21 You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from scheming enemies. You keep them in your abode, safe from plotting tongues. |
Benedictus Dominus, quoniam mirificavit misericordiam suam mihi in civitate munita. | 22 Blessed be the LORD, who has shown me wondrous love, and been for me a city most secure. |
Ego autem dixi in trepidatione mea: “ Praecisus sum a conspectu oculorum tuorum ”. Verumtamen exaudisti vocem orationis meae, dum clamarem ad te. | 23 Once I said in my anguish, "I am shut out from your sight." Yet you heard my plea, when I cried out to you. |
Diligite Dominum, omnes sancti eius: fideles conservat Dominus et retribuit abundanter facientibus superbiam. | 24 Love the LORD, all you faithful. The LORD protects the loyal, but repays the arrogant in full. |
Viriliter agite, et confortetur cor vestrum, omnes, qui speratis in Domino. | 25 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD. |
