1 ALLELUIA. In exitu Israel de Aegypto, domus Iacob de populo barbaro,	1 When Israel came forth from Egypt, the house of Jacob from an alien people,
2 factus est Iuda sanctuarium eius, Israel potestas eius.	2 Judah became God's holy place, Israel, God's domain.
3 Mare vidit et fugit, Iordanis conversus est retrorsum;	3 The sea beheld and fled; the Jordan turned back.
4 montes saltaverunt ut arietes, et colles sicut agni ovium. -	4 The mountains skipped like rams; the hills, like lambs of the flock.
5 Quid est tibi, mare, quod fugisti? Et tu, Iordanis, quia conversus es retrorsum?	5 Why was it, sea, that you fled? Jordan, that you turned back?
6 Montes, quod saltastis sicut arietes, et colles, sicut agni ovium?	6 You mountains, that you skipped like rams? You hills, like lambs of the flock?
7 A facie Domini contremisce, terra, a facie Dei Iacob,	7 Tremble, earth, before the Lord, before the God of Jacob,
