1 Canto delle salite. Di Davide.Quale gioia, quando mi dissero:«Andremo alla casa del Signore!».	1 A Canticle in steps. I have lifted up my eyes to you, who dwells in the heavens.
2 Già sono fermi i nostri piedialle tue porte, Gerusalemme!	2 Behold, as the eyes of the servants are on the hands of their masters, as the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress, so our eyes are upon the Lord our God, until he may be merciful to us.
3 Gerusalemme è costruitacome città unita e compatta.	3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us. For we have been filled with utter disdain.
4 È là che salgono le tribù,le tribù del Signore,secondo la legge d’Israele,per lodare il nome del Signore.	4 For our soul has been greatly filled. We are the disgrace of those who have abundance and the disdain of the arrogant.
5 Là sono posti i troni del giudizio,i troni della casa di Davide.
6 Chiedete pace per Gerusalemme:vivano sicuri quelli che ti amano;
7 sia pace nelle tue mura,sicurezza nei tuoi palazzi.
8 Per i miei fratelli e i miei amiciio dirò: «Su te sia pace!».
9 Per la casa del Signore nostro Dio,chiederò per te il bene.
