1 Magistro chori. David. Psalmus.	1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David himself.
2 Exspectans exspectavi Dominum, et intendit mihi.	2 Blessed is he who shows understanding toward the needy and the poor. The Lord will deliver him in the evil day.
3 Et exaudivit clamorem meum et eduxit me de lacu miseriae et de luto faecis; et statuit super petram pedes meos et firmavit gressus meos.	3 May the Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth. And may he not hand him over to the will of his adversaries.
4 Et immisit in os meum canticum novum, carmen Deo nostro. Videbunt multi et timebunt et sperabunt in Domino.	4 May the Lord bring him help on his bed of sorrow. In his infirmity, you have changed his entire covering.
5 Beatus vir, qui posuit Dominum spem suam et non respexit superbos et declinantes in mendacium.	5 I said, “O Lord, be merciful to me. Heal my soul, because I have sinned against you.”
6 Multa fecisti tu, Domine Deus meus, mirabilia tua, et cogitationes tuas pro nobis: non est qui similis sit tibi. Si nuntiare et eloqui voluero, multiplicabuntur super numerum.	6 My enemies have spoken evils against me. When will he die and his name perish?
7 Sacrificium et oblationem noluisti, aures autem fodisti mihi. Holocaustum et pro peccato non postulasti,	7 And when he came in to see me, he was speaking emptiness. His heart gathered iniquity to itself. He went outside, and he was speaking in the same way.
8 tunc dixi: “ Ecce venio. In volumine libri scriptum est de me.	8 All my enemies were whispering against me. They were thinking up evils against me.
9 Facere voluntatem tuam, Deus meus, volui; et lex tua in praecordiis meis ”.	9 They established an unjust word against me. Will he that sleeps no longer rise again?
10 Annuntiavi iustitiam tuam in ecclesia magna; ecce labia mea non prohibebo, Domine, tu scisti.	10 For even the man of my peace, in whom I hoped, who ate my bread, has greatly supplanted me.
11 Iustitiam tuam non abscondi in corde meo, veritatem tuam et salutare tuum dixi. Non abscondi misericordiam tuam et veritatem tuam ab ecclesia magna.	11 But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, and raise me up again. And I will requite them.
12 Tu autem, Domine, ne prohibeas miserationes tuas a me; misericordia tua et veritas tua semper suscipiant me,	12 By this, I knew that you preferred me: because my adversary will not rejoice over me.
13 quoniam circumdederunt me mala, quorum non est numerus; comprehenderunt me iniquitates meae, et non potui videre. Multiplicatae sunt super capillos capitis mei, et cor meum dereliquit me.	13 But you have sustained me, because of my innocence, and you have confirmed me in your sight in eternity.
14 Complaceat tibi, Domine, ut eruas me; Domine, ad adiuvandum me festina.	14 Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for all generations and even forever. Amen. Amen.
15 Confundantur et revereantur simul, qui quaerunt animam meam, ut auferant eam. Avertantur retrorsum et erubescant, qui volunt mihi mala.
16 Obstupescant propter confusionem suam, qui dicunt mihi: “ Euge, euge ”.
17 Exsultent et laetentur in te omnes quaerentes te; et dicant semper: “ Magnificetur Dominus ”, qui diligunt salutare tuum.
18 Ego autem egenus et pauper sum; Dominus sollicitus est mei. Adiutor meus et liberator meus tu es; Deus meus, ne tardaveris.
