1 Ma Baldad di Sueh rispose, e disse:	1 Then Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:
2 Fino a quando getterete voi le parole? Fatevi prima sapienti, e poi parleremo.	2 How long will you throw out words? understand first, and so let us speak.
3 Perché ci stimate voi quasi giumenti, e vili sembriamo dinanzi a voi?	3 Why are we reputed as beasts, and counted vile before you?
4 O tu, che nel tuo furore laceri l'anima tua, forse a causa di te resterà in abbandono la terra, e le rupi saranno smosse da' siti loro?	4 Thou that destroyest thy soul in thy fury, shall the earth be forsaken for thee, and shall rocks be removed out of their place?
5 Non è egli vero, che la luce dell'empio si spegnerà, e che non darà splendore la fiamma del suo focolare?	5 Shall not the light of the wicked be extinguished, and the flame of his fire not shine?
6 La luce nella sua casa si cangerà in tenebre, e la lucerna che sta sopra di lui si estinguerà.	6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him, shall be put out.
7 Egli che camminava si franco si troverà in istrettezze, e il suo consiglio sarà suo precipizio.	7 The step of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down headlong.
8 Perocché egli ha posti i suoi piedi nella rete, e nelle maglie di essa si intrica.	8 For he hath thrust his feet into a net, and walketh in its meshes.
9 Il suo piede sarà preso al laccio, e la sete contro di lui infierirà.	9 The sole of his foot shall be held in a snare, and thirst shall burn against him.
10 Il laccio è nascoso in terra, e la rete lungo la strada.	10 A gin is hidden for him in the earth, and his trap upon the path.
11 Da tutte parti lo atterriranno le paure, e impacceranno i piedi di lui.	11 Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.
12 Robusto com'è cadrà in languore per la fame, e l'inedia indebolirà il suo fianco.	12 Let his strength be wasted with famine, and let hunger invade his ribs.
13 Acerbissima morte divorerà la sua bella carnagione, e consumerà le sue braccia.	13 Let it devour the beauty of his skin, let the firstborn death consume his arms.
14 Quel che nudriva la sua fidanza sarà rapito dal suo padiglione, e lui premerà col piede, qual sovrana, la morte.	14 Let his confidence be rooted out of his tabernacle, and let destruction tread upon him like a king.
15 La casa di lui, che più non è, sarà abitata da' suoi compagni, la sua casa sarà profumata col zolfo.	15 Let the companions of him that is not, dwell in his tabernacle, let brimstone be sprinkled in his tent.
16 Le sue più profonde radici si seccheranno, e i rami più alti saranno recisi.	16 Let his roots be dried up beneath, and his harvest destroyed above.
17 La memoria di lui perirà sulla terra, e del nome suo ricordanza non si farà nelle piazze.	17 Let the memory of him perish from the earth and let not his name be renowned in the streets.
18 Dalla luce sarà cacciato nelle tenebre, e traportato fuori del mondo.	18 He shall drive him out of light into darkness, and shall remove him out of the world.
19 Sentenza di lui, nè discendenza non resterà nel suo popolo, nulla di lui rimarrà nel paese dove abitava.	19 His seed shall not subsist, nor his offspring among his people, nor any remnants in his country.
20 Della sua perdizione rimarranno attoniti quelli che verran dopo, e inorriditi i suoi coetanei.	20 They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, and horror shall fall upon them that went before.
21 Così adunque sarà della casa dell'empio, e tale è la condizione di colui, che non conosce Iddio.	21 These men are the tabernacles of the wicked, and this the place of him that knoweth not God.
