1 Salmo. Di Davide, quando era nel deserto di Giuda.	1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.
2 O Dio, tu sei il mio Dio,dall’aurora io ti cerco,ha sete di te l'anima mia,desidera te la mia carnein terra arida, assetata, senz’acqua.	2 Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.
3 Così nel santuario ti ho contemplato,guardando la tua potenza e la tua gloria.	3 You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.
4 Poiché il tuo amore vale più della vita,le mie labbra canteranno la tua lode.	4 For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,
5 Così ti benedirò per tutta la vita:nel tuo nome alzerò le mie mani.	5 so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.
6 Come saziato dai cibi migliori,con labbra gioiose ti loderà la mia bocca.	6 They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”
7 Quando nel mio letto di te mi ricordoe penso a te nelle veglie notturne,	7 They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,
8 a te che sei stato il mio aiuto,esulto di gioia all’ombra delle tue ali.	8 and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,
9 A te si stringe l’anima mia:la tua destra mi sostiene.	9 and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;
10 Ma quelli che cercano di rovinarmisprofondino sotto terra,	10 and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.
11 siano consegnati in mano alla spada,divengano preda di sciacalli.	11 The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.
12 Il re troverà in Dio la sua gioia;si glorierà chi giura per lui,perché ai mentitori verrà chiusa la bocca.
