1 Canto delle salite.Quanto mi hanno perseguitato fin dalla giovinezza– lo dica Israele –,	1 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
2 quanto mi hanno perseguitato fin dalla giovinezza,ma su di me non hanno prevalso!	2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 Sul mio dorso hanno arato gli aratori,hanno scavato lunghi solchi.	3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
4 Il Signore è giusto:ha spezzato le funi dei malvagi.	4 The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5 Si vergognino e volgano le spalletutti quelli che odiano Sion.	5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
6 Siano come l’erba dei tetti:prima che sia strappata, è già secca;	6 Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
7 non riempie la mano al mietitorené il grembo a chi raccoglie covoni.	7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
8 I passanti non possono dire:«La benedizione del Signore sia su di voi,	8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
9 vi benediciamo nel nome del Signore».
