Psalmi 105

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Alleluja. Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.	1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!
2 Quis loquetur potentias Domini ; auditas faciet omnes laudes ejus ?	2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!
3 Beati qui custodiunt judicium, et faciunt justitiam in omni tempore.	3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!
4 Memento nostri, Domine, in beneplacito populi tui ; visita nos in salutari tuo :	4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!
5 ad videndum in bonitate electorum tuorum ; ad lætandum in lætitia gentis tuæ : ut lauderis cum hæreditate tua.	5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.
6 Peccavimus cum patribus nostris : injuste egimus ; iniquitatem fecimus.	6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!
7 Patres nostri in Ægypto non intellexerunt mirabilia tua ; non fuerunt memores multitudinis misericordiæ tuæ. Et irritaverunt ascendentes in mare, mare Rubrum ;	7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.
8 et salvavit eos propter nomen suum, ut notam faceret potentiam suam.	8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,
9 Et increpuit mare Rubrum et exsiccatum est, et deduxit eos in abyssis sicut in deserto.	9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 Et salvavit eos de manu odientium, et redemit eos de manu inimici.	10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,
11 Et operuit aqua tribulantes eos ; unus ex eis non remansit.	11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'
12 Et crediderunt verbis ejus, et laudaverunt laudem ejus.	12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,
13 Cito fecerunt ; obliti sunt operum ejus : et non sustinuerunt consilium ejus.	13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,
14 Et concupierunt concupiscentiam in deserto, et tentaverunt Deum in inaquoso.	14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,
15 Et dedit eis petitionem ipsorum, et misit saturitatem in animas eorum.	15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'
16 Et irritaverunt Moysen in castris ; Aaron, sanctum Domini.	16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;
17 Aperta est terra, et deglutivit Dathan, et operuit super congregationem Abiron.	17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
18 Et exarsit ignis in synagoga eorum : flamma combussit peccatores.	18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.
19 Et fecerunt vitulum in Horeb, et adoraverunt sculptile.	19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.
20 Et mutaverunt gloriam suam in similitudinem vituli comedentis f?num.	20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;
21 Obliti sunt Deum qui salvavit eos ; qui fecit magnalia in Ægypto,	21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,
22 mirabilia in terra Cham, terribilia in mari Rubro.	22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.
23 Et dixit ut disperderet eos, si non Moyses, electus ejus, stetisset in confractione in conspectu ejus, ut averteret iram ejus, ne disperderet eos.	23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.
24 Et pro nihilo habuerunt terram desiderabilem ; non crediderunt verbo ejus.	24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,
25 Et murmuraverunt in tabernaculis suis ; non exaudierunt vocem Domini.	25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.
26 Et elevavit manum suam super eos ut prosterneret eos in deserto :	26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.
27 et ut dejiceret semen eorum in nationibus, et dispergeret eos in regionibus.	27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.
28 Et initiati sunt Beelphegor, et comederunt sacrificia mortuorum.	28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.
29 Et irritaverunt eum in adinventionibus suis, et multiplicata est in eis ruina.	29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.
30 Et stetit Phinees, et placavit, et cessavit quassatio.	30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;
31 Et reputatum est ei in justitiam, in generationem et generationem usque in sempiternum.	31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.
32 Et irritaverunt eum ad aquas contradictionis, et vexatus est Moyses propter eos :	32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;
33 quia exacerbaverunt spiritum ejus, et distinxit in labiis suis.	33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.
34 Non disperdiderunt gentes quas dixit Dominus illis :	34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;
35 et commisti sunt inter gentes, et didicerunt opera eorum ;	35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.
36 et servierunt sculptilibus eorum, et factum est illis in scandalum.	36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;
37 Et immolaverunt filios suos et filias suas dæmoniis.	37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.
38 Et effuderunt sanguinem innocentem, sanguinem filiorum suorum et filiarum suarum, quas sacrificaverunt sculptilibus Chanaan. Et infecta est terra in sanguinibus,	38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.
39 et contaminata est in operibus eorum : et fornicati sunt in adinventionibus suis.	39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.
40 Et iratus est furore Dominus in populum suum, et abominatus est hæreditatem suam.	40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;
41 Et tradidit eos in manus gentium ; et dominati sunt eorum qui oderunt eos.	41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.
42 Et tribulaverunt eos inimici eorum, et humiliati sunt sub manibus eorum ;	42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,
43 sæpe liberavit eos. Ipsi autem exacerbaverunt eum in consilio suo, et humiliati sunt in iniquitatibus suis.	43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.
44 Et vidit cum tribularentur, et audivit orationem eorum.	44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,
45 Et memor fuit testamenti sui, et p?nituit eum secundum multitudinem misericordiæ suæ :	45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
46 et dedit eos in misericordias, in conspectu omnium qui ceperant eos.
47 Salvos nos fac, Domine Deus noster, et congrega nos de nationibus : ut confiteamur nomini sancto tuo, et gloriemur in laude tua.
48 Benedictus Dominus Deus Israël, a sæculo et usque in sæculum ; et dicet omnis populus : Fiat, fiat.
