Isaia 64

1 Se tu squarciassi i cieli, e scendessi! al tuo cospetto si liquefarebbero i monti.	1 I wish that you would rend the heavens, and then descend! The mountains would flow away before your face.
2 Si consumerebbero come in una fornace di fuoco, le acque prenderebbero l'ardore del fuoco, affinchè si rendesse manifesto il tuo nome a' tuoi nemici; e dinanzi a te si turbassero le nazioni.	2 They would melt, as if thoroughly burned by fire. The waters would burn with fire, so that your name might be made known to your enemies, so that the nations would be stirred up before your face.
3 Allorché avrai fatto queste cose amirabili, noi non le sosterremo: tu se' disceso, e dinanzi a te i monti si non disciolti.	3 When you will perform miracles, we will not be able to withstand them. You descended, and the mountains flowed away before your presence.
4 Pe' secoli indietro nissuno seppe, né orecchia udì, né occhio vide, o Dio, eccetto te, quel, che tu hai preparato per coloro, che ti aspettano.	4 From ages past, they have not heard it, and they have not perceived it with the ears. Apart from you, O God, the eye has not seen what you have prepared for those who await you.
5 Tu vai incontro a quelli, che si rallegrano in te, e praticano la giustizia: nelle tue vie si ricorderanno di te secco, che tu se' irato, e noi abbiam peccato: in peccato fummo noi sempre, e saremo salvati.	5 You have met with those who rejoice in doing justice. By your ways, they will remember you. Behold, you have been angry, for we have sinned. In this, we have continued, but we will be saved.
6 Siam diventati tutti noi come un immondo, e quasi sucido panno sono tutte le nostre giustificazioni: siamo caduti tutti come foglie, e le nostre iniquità sono state come il vento, che ci ha dispersi.	6 And we have all become like the unclean. And all our justices are like a rag of menstruation. And we have all fallen away, like a leaf. And our iniquities have carried us away, like the wind.
7 Non è chi invochi il tuo nome, chi si alzi, e ti rattenga: tu hai nascosa a noi la tua faccia, e ci hai schiacciati sotto la nostra iniquità.	7 There is no one who calls upon your name, who rises up and holds fast to you. You have concealed your face from us, and you have crushed us with the hand of our own iniquity.
8 E adesso, o Signore, tu se' il Padre nostro, e noi fango; e facitore nostro se' tu, e tutti noi opere delle tue mani.	8 And now, O Lord, you are our Father, yet truly, we are clay. And you are our Maker, and we are all the works of your hands.
9 Non adirarti troppo, o Signore, e non voler più ricordarti della nostra iniquità; ecco, rimiraci, tuo popolo (siam) tutti noi.	9 Do not be so angry, O Lord, and no longer call to mind our iniquity. Behold, consider that we are all your people.
10 La città del tuo santuario è diven tata deserta, Sionne è diventata deserta, Gerusalemme è desolata.	10 The city of your sanctuary has become a desert. Zion has become a desert. Jerusalem is desolate.
11 La casa della nostra santificazione,e della nostra gloria, dove le tue lodi cantarono i padri nostri, è stata consumata dal fuoco, e tutte le nostre grandezze son cangiate in rovine.	11 The house of our sanctification and of our glory, where our fathers praised you, has been completely consumed by fire, and all our admirable things have been turned into ruins.
12 A tali cose ti ratterai tu forse, o Signore, e starai in silenzio, e ci affliggerai for misura?	12 Should you restrain yourself, O Lord, concerning these things? Should you remain silent, and afflict us vehemently?
