Isaia 34

BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Accostatevi, o nazioni, ed ascoltate: popoli ponete mente: oda la terra, e le cose tutte, che la riempiono, il mondo, e tutto quello, ch'egli produce;	1 Come near and listen, you nations, pay attention, you peoples. Let the earth and its contents listen, theworld and its entire population.
2 Perocché l'ira del Signore sta sopra a tutte le genti, e il suo furore sopra tutta la lor moltitudine: la ucciderà, e daralla a morte.	2 For Yahweh is angry with al the nations, enraged with al their hordes. He has vowed them todestruction, handed them over to slaughter.
3 I loro uccisi saran gettati al campo, e si alzerà la puzza dai loro cadaveri: i monti coleranno del loro sangue.	3 Their dead wil be thrown away, the stench wil rise from their corpses, the mountains wil run with theirblood,
4 Verrà meno tutta la milizia de' cieli, e i cieli saranno ravvolti come un libro; e tutta la lor milizia cadrà, come cade la foglia della vite, e del fico.	4 the entire array of heaven wil fall apart. The heavens wil be rol ed up like a scrol and al their array willfade away, as fade the leaves fal ing from the vine, as fade those fal ing from the fig tree.
5 Perocché la mia spada si è insanguinata nel cielo: ecco che ella piomberà sompra l'Idumea, e sopra quel popolo, che sarà ucciso da me per giu sta vendetta.	5 For my sword has drunk deep in the heavens: see how it now fal s on Edom, on the people vowed todestruction, to punish them.
6 La spada del Signore è tutta sangue, tutta unta di grasso, di sangue degli agnelli, e de' capri, del sangue de' grassi arieti: perocché la vittima del Signore è in Bosra, e un gran macello nella terra di Edom.	6 Yahweh's sword is gorged with blood, it is greasy with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with thefat of the kidneys of rams. For Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 E cadranno a terra con essi gli unicorni, e tori co' potenti: sarà inebriata di sangue la loro terra, e la loro campagna del grassume de' corpi:	7 The wild oxen will fal with them, the bullocks with the bul s; their land wil be drenched with blood andtheir dust wil be greasy with fat.
8 Perchè giorno è questo della vendetta del Signore, anno, in cui renderassi giustizia a Sionne.	8 For this wil be Yahweh's day of vengeance, the year of retribution in Zion's lawsuit.
9 E i suoi torrenti si cangeranno in pece, e la sua terra in solfo; e i suoi campi diverran pece ardente.	9 Its streams will turn into pitch, its dust into brimstone, its country wil turn into blazing pitch.
10 Né dì, né notte cesserà l'incendio, salirà in eterno il fumo di lei: sarà desolata per generazioni, e generazioni: non vi passerà, anima per tutti i secoli.	10 Never quenched night or day, its smoke rising for ever, it wil lie waste age after age, no one wil travelthrough it for ever and ever.
11 E ne saranno padroni l'onocretalo, e l'ericio: l'ibide, e il corvo vi avranno stanza: sarà tesa sopra di lei una corda, affine di annichilarla, e un livello per desolarla.	11 It wil be the haunt of pelican and hedgehog, the owl and the raven wil live there; over it Yahweh wilstretch the measuring line of chaos and the plumb-line of emptiness.
12 Non vi saran più suoi nobili, ma ei chiederanno un re, e tutti i suoi principi saranno annientati.	12 There will be no more nobles to proclaim the royal authority; there will be an end of al its princes.
13 E sulle case di lei nasceranno spine, ed ortiche, e roveti sulle sue rocche: ella sarà covile di dragoni, e luogo di pastura agli struzzoli.	13 Brambles wil grow in its bastions, nettles and thorn-bushes in its fortresses, it will be the lair ofjackals, an enclosure for ostriches.
14 E vi s'incontreranno demoni con onocentauri, e i satiri grideranno l'uno all'altro: ivi s'accovaccerà la lamia, e vi riposerà.	14 Wild cats wil meet hyenas there, satyr will cal to satyr, there Lilith too wil lurk and find somewhere torest.
15 Ivi ha sua tana l'ericio, e vi al leva i suoi parti, e dilatata all'intorno la tana li nutre all'ombra di lei: ivi i milvi si uniscono l'uno coll'altro.	15 The snake wil nest and lay eggs there, will hatch and gather its young into the shade; and there thevultures wil assemble, each one with its mate.
16 Cercate diligentemente nel libro del Signore, e leggete: di queste cose una non mancherà, una non sarà senza l'altra: perocché quello, che esce dalla mia bocca, egli me lo ha dettato, e lo spirito di lui ha egli stesso riunite queste cose.	16 Search in Yahweh's book, and read, not one of these will be missing, not one of them lacking a mate;for thus his mouth has ordained it, and his spirit has brought them together.
17 Ed egli è, che darà ad essi la lor porzione, la mano di lui dividerà ad essi l'Idumea con misura: ei la possederanno sempre in eterno, e per tutte le generazioni la abiteranno.	17 He has thrown the lot for each, his hand has measured out their share; they wil possess it for ever,and live there age after age.
