Isaia 58

1 Grida, non darti posa; alza la tua voce come una tromba, e annunzia al popol mio le sue scelleratezze, e alla casa di Giacobbe i suoi peccati;	1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Perocché ogni giorno m'interrogano, e voglion saper i miei consigli: come gente, che abbia esercitata la giustizia, e non abbia abbandonata la legge del suo Dio, mi domandan ragione dei giudizj di (mia) giustizia: voglion essere vicini a Dio.	2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
3 Perchè abbiam noi digiunato, e tu non ne hai fatto conto? abbiamo umiliato le anime nostre, ed hai fatto vista di non saperlo? Ecco, che nel dì del vostro digiuno la volontà vostra si soddisfa, e voi stringete tutti i vostri debitori.	3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
4 Ecco che voi digiunate per litigare, e quistionare, e percuotete altrui co' pugni empiamente. Non digiunate come avete fatto fino a questo dì per e far sentire nell'alto i vostri clamori.	4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5 Il digiuno, che io amo, sta egli in questo, che l'uomo affligga per giorno l'anima sua? ovver ch'ei della sua testa incurvata ne faccia quasi un cerchio, e si getti addosso il sacco, e la cenere? Questo forse chiamerai tu digiuno, e giorno accetto al Signore?	5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
6 Non è egli questo piuttosto il digiuno, che io amo? sciogli i vincoli dell'empietà; sciogli le obbligazioni, che opprimono: metti in libertà i mal condotti, e rompi ogni gravame.	6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Spezza all'affamato il tuo pane, e i poveri, e i raminghi menati a tua casa: se vedi uno ignudo, rivestilo, e non ispregiare la tua propria carne.	7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Allora come di dell'aurora spunterà la tua luce, e presto verrà la tua guarigione, e la tua giustizia anderà innanzi a te, e la gloria del Signore ti accoglierà.	8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
9 Allora tu invocherai il Signore, ed egli ti esaudirà: alzerai la tua voce, ed ei dirà: Eccomi a te. Se torrai di mezzo a te la catena, e cesserai di stendere il dito, e di parlare come non si conviene.	9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 Quando tu aprirai le tue viscere all'affamato, e consolerai l'anima afflitta, nascerà nelle tenebre a te la luce, e le tue tenebre si cangeranno in un mezzodì.	10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11 E il Signore darà a te sempre riposo, e l'anima tua empierà di splendori, e conforterà le tue ossa: e tu sarai come un giardino innaffiato, e come fontana, cui non mancano acque giammai.	11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12 E saran da te ristorati i luoghi ab antico deserti, alzerai de' fondamenti per generazioni, e generazioni: e ti sarà dato il nome di ristoratore delle mura d'uom, che rende sicure le strade.	12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13 Se conterrai il tuo piede nel sabato, e non farai la tua volontà nel santo mio giorno, e se tu il sabato chiamerai giorno delizioso, e santo, glorioso del Signore, e lui glorificherai col non fare quel, che solevi, e col non soddisfare la tua volontà co' tuoi cicalecci;	13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Allora la dilettazione tua avrai nel Signore, ed io t'innalzerò sopra ogni elevazion della terra, e per tuo nutrimento darotti l'eredità di Giacobbe tuo padre: imperocché il Signore di sua bocca ha parlato.	14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
