Isaia 55

1 Sitibondi venite tutti alle acque, e voi che non avete argento, fate presto, comprate, e mangiate: venite, comprate senza argento, e senz'altra permuta del vino, e del latte.	1 All you who thirst, come to the waters. And you who have no money: hurry, buy and eat. Approach, buy wine and milk, without money and without barter.
2 Per qual motivo spendete voi il vostro argento in cose, che non son pane, e la vostra fatica in quello, che non satolla? udite me con docilità, e cibatevi di buon cibo, e nel sostanzioso nudrimento si delizierà l'anima vostra.	2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and expend your labor for what does not satisfy? Listen very closely to me, and eat what is good, and then your soul will be delighted by a full measure.
3 Porgete l'orecchia vostra, e venite a me: ascoltate, e l'anima vostra avrà vita, e stabilirò con voi un patto eterno, l'adempimento delle misericordie promesse a Davidde.	3 Incline your ear and draw near to me. Listen, and your soul will live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, by the faithful mercies of David.
4 Ecco, che io ho dato lui testimone ai popoli, condottiere, e maestro delle nazioni.	4 Behold, I have presented him as a witness to the people, as a commander and instructor to the nations.
5 Ecco, che quel popolo, cui tu non riconoscevi, tu lo chiamerai; e le genti, che te non conoscevano, correranno a te per amor del Signore Dio tuo, e del Santo d'Israele, il quale ti ha glorificato.	5 Behold, you will call to a nation that you did not know. And nations that did not know you will rush to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel. For he has glorified you.
6 Cercate il Signore quand'ei può trovarsi, invocatelo quand'egli è dappresso.	6 Seek the Lord, while he is able to be found. Call upon him, while he is near.
7 La sua via abbandoni l'empio, e l'iniquo i suoi consigli, e ritorni al Signore, il quale avrà misericordia di lui, e al nostro Dio, che abbonda nel perdonare.	7 Let the impious one abandon his way, and the iniquitous man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will take pity on him, and to our God, for he is great in forgiveness.
8 Imperocché i miei pensieri non sono i vostri pensieri, né le vie vostre son le mie vie, dice il Signore.	8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways, says the Lord.
9 Imperocché quanto il cielo sovrasta alla terra, tanto le mie vie sovrastano alle vie vostre, e i pensieri miei a' vostri pensieri.	9 For just as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so also are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts.
10 E come scende la pioggia, e la neve dal cielo, e colassù non ritorna, ma inebria la terra, e la bagna, e la fa germogliare, affinchè dia il seme da seminare, e il pane da mangiare;	10 And in the same manner as rain and snow descend from heaven, and no longer return there, but soak the earth, and water it, and cause it to bloom and to provide seed to the sower and bread to the hungry,
11 Cosi sarà della mia parola uscita dalla mia bocca: ella non tornerà a me senza frutto, ma opererà tutto quello, ch'io voglio, e felicemente adempierà quelle cose, per le quali la ho mandata.	11 so also will my word be, which will go forth from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish whatever I will, and it will prosper in the tasks for which I sent it.
12 Imperocché con gaudio uscirete (di schiavitù), e pace avrete nel vostro viaggio: i monti, e i colli rimbomberanno d'inni dinanzi a voi, e le piante tutte del paese faranno applauso colle lor braccia.	12 For you will go forth rejoicing, and you will be led forward in peace. The mountains and the hills will sing praise before you, and all the trees of the countryside will clap their hands.
13 Nel luogo del nardo celtico alzerassi l'abete, e nel luogo della ortica, crescerà il mirto: e il Signore sarà un nome, e un segno eterno, che non sarà cancellato.	13 In place of the shrub, the pine tree will arise, and in place of the nettle, the myrtle tree will grow. And the Lord will be named with an eternal sign, which will not be taken away.
