Isaia 55

1 Sitibondi venite tutti alle acque, e voi che non avete argento, fate presto, comprate, e mangiate: venite, comprate senza argento, e senz'altra permuta del vino, e del latte.	1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Per qual motivo spendete voi il vostro argento in cose, che non son pane, e la vostra fatica in quello, che non satolla? udite me con docilità, e cibatevi di buon cibo, e nel sostanzioso nudrimento si delizierà l'anima vostra.	2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Porgete l'orecchia vostra, e venite a me: ascoltate, e l'anima vostra avrà vita, e stabilirò con voi un patto eterno, l'adempimento delle misericordie promesse a Davidde.	3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Ecco, che io ho dato lui testimone ai popoli, condottiere, e maestro delle nazioni.	4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Ecco, che quel popolo, cui tu non riconoscevi, tu lo chiamerai; e le genti, che te non conoscevano, correranno a te per amor del Signore Dio tuo, e del Santo d'Israele, il quale ti ha glorificato.	5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Cercate il Signore quand'ei può trovarsi, invocatelo quand'egli è dappresso.	6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 La sua via abbandoni l'empio, e l'iniquo i suoi consigli, e ritorni al Signore, il quale avrà misericordia di lui, e al nostro Dio, che abbonda nel perdonare.	7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 Imperocché i miei pensieri non sono i vostri pensieri, né le vie vostre son le mie vie, dice il Signore.	8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 Imperocché quanto il cielo sovrasta alla terra, tanto le mie vie sovrastano alle vie vostre, e i pensieri miei a' vostri pensieri.	9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 E come scende la pioggia, e la neve dal cielo, e colassù non ritorna, ma inebria la terra, e la bagna, e la fa germogliare, affinchè dia il seme da seminare, e il pane da mangiare;	10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 Cosi sarà della mia parola uscita dalla mia bocca: ella non tornerà a me senza frutto, ma opererà tutto quello, ch'io voglio, e felicemente adempierà quelle cose, per le quali la ho mandata.	11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 Imperocché con gaudio uscirete (di schiavitù), e pace avrete nel vostro viaggio: i monti, e i colli rimbomberanno d'inni dinanzi a voi, e le piante tutte del paese faranno applauso colle lor braccia.	12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Nel luogo del nardo celtico alzerassi l'abete, e nel luogo della ortica, crescerà il mirto: e il Signore sarà un nome, e un segno eterno, che non sarà cancellato.	13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
