Isaia 26

BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 In quel giorno sarà cantato questo cantico nella terra di Giuda. Nostra città forte è Sionne: sua muraglia, e suo parapetto sarà il Salvatore.	1 That day, this song wil be sung in Judah: 'We have a fortress city, the wal s and ramparts providesafety.
2 Aprite le porte, ed entri la gente giusta, che custodì la verità.	2 Open the gates! Let the upright nation come in, the nation that keeps faith!
3 L'antico errore è dissipato: tu manterrai la pace: la pace, perchè in te' noi sperammo.	3 This is the plan decreed: you wil guarantee peace, the peace entrusted to you.
4 Voi poneste la speranza vostra nel Signore pe' secoli eterni, nel Signore Dio forte in perpetuo.	4 Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh is a rock for ever.
5 Perocché egli deprimerà quei, che stanno in posti sublimi, umilierà l'altiera città. La umilierà fino a terra, la abbasserà fino alla polvere.	5 He has brought low the dwel ers on the heights, the lofty citadel; he lays it low, brings it to the ground,flings it down in the dust.
6 La calpesteranno i piedi, i piedi del povero, le orme del mendico.	6 It wil be trodden under foot, by the feet of the needy, the steps of the weak.'
7 La via del giusto è diritta; diritti i sentieri, pe quali il giusto cammina.	7 The path of the Upright One is honesty; you smooth the honest way of the upright.
8 E nella via de' tuoi giudizj noi te aspettammo, o Signore: il tuo nome, e la memoria di te sono il desiderio dell'anima.	8 Fol owing the path of your judgements, Yahweh, we set our hopes in you, your name, your memory areal our soul desires.
9 L'anima mia te bramò nella notte: e col mio spirito, e col mio cuore mi volgerò a te dalla punta del giorno. Allorché tu avrai eseguiti i tuoi giudizj in terra, gli abitanti del mondo appareran la giustizia.	9 At night my soul longs for you and my spirit within me seeks you out; for when your judgements appearon earth the inhabitants of the world learn what saving justice is.
10 Abbiasi compassione dell'empio,ed ei non apparerà la giustizia: egli ha commesse iniquità nella terra dei santi, e non vedrà la gloria del Signore.	10 If pity is shown to the wicked without his learning what saving justice is, he wil act wrongly in the landof right conduct and not see the majesty of Yahweh.
11 Alza, o Signor, la tua mano, ed ei non veggano: veggano gl'invidiosi del popolo, e rimangan confusi: e sian divorati dal fuoco i tuoi nemici.	11 Yahweh, your hand is raised but they do not see! The antagonists of your people will look and growpale; with your fiery wrath you wil devour your enemies.
12 Signore, tu a noi darai pace: perocché tutte le opere nostre hai tu fatte per noi.	12 Yahweh, you wil grant us peace, having completed al our undertakings for us.
13 Senza di te, o Signore Dio nostro, abbiamo avuti de' padroni, che ci han dominato: di te solo, e del nome tuo fa, che noi abbiamo memoria.	13 Yahweh our God, other lords than you have ruled us but, loyal to you alone, we invoke your name.
14 I morti non tornino a vivere; i giganti non risorgano: che perciò tu li visitasti, e gli sterminasti, e cancellasti affatto la loro memoria.	14 The dead wil not come back to life, the shadows wil not rise again, for you have punished them,annihilated them, wiping out their very memory.
15 Tu favoristi, o Signore, la nazione, tu favoristi la nazione; ne sei tu stato forse glorificato per aver dilatati tutti i confini della (sua) terra?	15 You have made the nation larger, Yahweh, made the nation larger and won yourself glory, you haverol ed back the frontiers of the country.
16 Nell'afflizione cercaron te, o Signore, e la tribolazione, onde gemono, e per essi tua istruzione.	16 Yahweh, in distress they had recourse to you, they expended themselves in prayer, since yourpunishment was on them.
17 Come quella, che concepì, avvicinandosi al parto grida affannata nelle sue doglie, tali siam noi, o Signore, dinanzi a te.	17 As a pregnant woman near her time of delivery writhes and cries out in her pangs, so have we been,Yahweh, in your eyes:
18 Abbiam concepito, e abbiam qua si sofferti i dolori del parto, e abbiam partorito lo spirito. Noi non facemmo nella terra opere di salute, per questo non caddero gli abitatori della terra.	18 we have been pregnant, we have writhed, but we have given birth only to wind: we have not givensalvation to the earth, no inhabitants for the world have been brought to birth.
19 Avranno vita i tuoi morti; gli uccisi miei risorgeranno: svegliatevi, e cantate inni di laude voi, che abitate nella polvere: perocché la tua rugiada è rugiada di luce, e tu rovinerai la terra de' giganti.	19 Your dead will come back to life, your corpses wil rise again. Wake up and sing, you dwel ers in thedust, for your dew wil be a radiant dew, but the earth will give birth to the shades.
20 Vanne popolo mio, entra nelle tue camere, chiudi dietro a te le tue porte, nasconditi un momento, fintantoché passi lo sdegno.	20 Go, my people, go to your private room, shut yourselves in. Hide yourselves a little while until theretribution has passed.
21 Imperocché ecco che il Signore verrà fuori dalla sua residenza a visitare l'iniquità dell'abitatore della terra contro di lui: e la terra renderà il sangue, che ha bevuto, e non ricoprirà più lungamente quelli, che sopra di lei furono uccisi.	21 For see, Yahweh emerges from his dwel ing to punish the inhabitants of earth for their guilt; and theearth will reveal the blood shed on it and no longer hide its slain.
