1 E Giobbe rispose, e disse:	1 Then Job answered, and said:
2 A chi vuoi tu dar soccorso? forse ad uno che sia spossato? e vuoi tu sostentar le braccia di un che forza non abbia?	2 Whose helper art thou? is it of him that is weak? and dost thou hold up the arm of him that has no strength?
3 A chi dai tu consiglio? forse a colui che saggezza non ha? ed hai fatto mostra della moltissima tua prudenza?	3 To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.
4 A chi volevi tu insegnare, se non a lui che fece gli spiriti?	4 Whom hast thou desired to teach? was it not him that made life?
5 Ecco che i giganti gemono sotto le acque insieme cogli altri, che in esso dimorano.	5 Behold the giants groan under the waters, and they that dwell with them.
6 Agli occhi di lui è aperto l'inferno, e l'abisso non ha telo che lo ricuopra.	6 Hell is naked before him, and there is no covering for destruction.
7 Egli ne' vuoti spazj stese il settentrione, e sopra il niente sospese la terra.	7 He stretched out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
8 Egli che serra le acque nelle sue nuvole, affinchè tutte insieme non precipitino al basso.	8 He bindeth up the waters in his clouds, so that they break not out and fall down together.
9 Egli nasconde alla vista il suo trono, e le sue nubi spande sopra di esso.	9 He withholdeth the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud over it.
10 Tirò i confini intorno alle acque, per sino a tanto che la luce, e le tenebre abbiano fine.	10 He hath set bounds about the waters, till light and darkness come to an end.
11 Le colonne del cielo tremano, e si impauriscono ad un cenno di lui.	11 The pillars of heaven tremble, and dread at his beck.
12 Dalla possanza di lui furon riuniti in un attimo i mari, e la sapienza di lui percosse il superbo.	12 By his power the seas are suddenly gathered together, and his wisdom has struck the proud one.
13 Lo spirito di lui ornò i cieli, e pelle mani di lui fu tratto in luce il tortuoso serpente.	13 His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.
14 Ecco che si è rammentata una parte delle opere di lui: che se quello, che abbiamo udito o una piccola stilla rispetto a quel che può dirsi, chi potrà reggere al tuono di sua grandezza?	14 Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?
