1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.	1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] I waited, I waited for Yahweh, then he stooped to me and heardmy cry for help.
2 Ho sperato, ho sperato nel Signore,ed egli su di me si è chinato,ha dato ascolto al mio grido.	2 He pul ed me up from the seething chasm, from the mud of the mire. He set my feet on rock, andmade my footsteps firm.
3 Mi ha tratto da un pozzo di acque tumultuose,dal fango della palude;ha stabilito i miei piedi sulla roccia,ha reso sicuri i miei passi.	3 He put a fresh song in my mouth, praise of our God. Many wil be awestruck at the sight, and will puttheir trust in Yahweh.
4 Mi ha messo sulla bocca un canto nuovo,una lode al nostro Dio.Molti vedranno e avranno timoree confideranno nel Signore.	4 How blessed are those who put their trust in Yahweh, who have not sided with rebels and those whohave gone astray in falsehood.
5 Beato l’uomo che ha posto la sua fiducia nel Signoree non si volge verso chi segue gli idoliné verso chi segue la menzogna.	5 How much you have done, Yahweh, my God -- your wonders, your plans for us -- you have no equal. Iwil proclaim and speak of them; they are beyond number.
6 Quante meraviglie hai fatto,tu, Signore, mio Dio,quanti progetti in nostro favore:nessuno a te si può paragonare!Se li voglio annunciare e proclamare,sono troppi per essere contati.	6 You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering, but you gave me an open ear, you did not ask for burntoffering or sacrifice for sin;
7 Sacrificio e offerta non gradisci,gli orecchi mi hai aperto,non hai chiesto olocausto né sacrificio per il peccato.	7 then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming.' In the scrol of the book it is written of me,
8 Allora ho detto: «Ecco, io vengo.Nel rotolo del libro su di me è scritto	8 my delight is to do your will; your law, my God, is deep in my heart.
9 di fare la tua volontà:mio Dio, questo io desidero;la tua legge è nel mio intimo».	9 I proclaimed the saving justice of Yahweh in the great assembly. See, I will not hold my tongue, as youwel know.
10 Ho annunciato la tua giustizia nella grande assemblea;vedi: non tengo chiuse le labbra, Signore, tu lo sai.	10 I have not kept your saving justice locked in the depths of my heart, but have spoken of yourconstancy and saving help. I have made no secret of your faithful and steadfast love, in the great assembly.
11 Non ho nascosto la tua giustizia dentro il mio cuore,la tua verità e la tua salvezza ho proclamato.Non ho celato il tuo amoree la tua fedeltà alla grande assemblea.	11 You, Yahweh, have not withheld your tenderness from me; your faithful and steadfast love will alwaysguard me.
12 Non rifiutarmi, Signore, la tua misericordia;il tuo amore e la tua fedeltà mi proteggano sempre,	12 For troubles surround me, until they are beyond number; my sins have overtaken me; I cannot seemy way. They outnumber the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.
13 perché mi circondano mali senza numero,le mie colpe mi opprimono e non riesco più a vedere:sono più dei capelli del mio capo,il mio cuore viene meno.	13 Be pleased, Yahweh, to rescue me, Yahweh, come quickly and help me!
14 Dégnati, Signore, di liberarmi;Signore, vieni presto in mio aiuto.	14 Shame and dismay to al who seek to take my life. Back with them, let them be humiliated whodelight in my misfortunes.
15 Siano svergognati e confusiquanti cercano di togliermi la vita.Retrocedano, coperti d’infamia,quanti godono della mia rovina.	15 Let them be aghast with shame, those who say to me, 'Aha, aha!'
16 Se ne tornino indietro pieni di vergognaquelli che mi dicono: «Ti sta bene!».	16 But joy and happiness in you to all who seek you! Let them ceaselessly cry, 'Great is Yahweh' wholove your saving power.
17 Esultino e gioiscano in tequelli che ti cercano;dicano sempre: «Il Signore è grande!»quelli che amano la tua salvezza.	17 Poor and needy as I am, the Lord has me in mind. You, my helper, my Saviour, my God, do notdelay.
18 Ma io sono povero e bisognoso:di me ha cura il Signore.Tu sei mio aiuto e mio liberatore:mio Dio, non tardare.
