Psalmi 7

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Psalmus David, quem cantavit Domino pro verbis Chusi, filii Jemini.	1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,
2 Domine Deus meus, in te speravi ; salvum me fac ex omnibus persequentibus me, et libera me :	2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.
3 nequando rapiat ut leo animam meam, dum non est qui redimat, neque qui salvum faciat.	3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,
4 Domine Deus meus, si feci istud, si est iniquitas in manibus meis,	4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,
5 si reddidi retribuentibus mihi mala, decidam merito ab inimicis meis inanis.	5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause
6 Persequatur inimicus animam meam, et comprehendat ; et conculcet in terra vitam meam, et gloriam meam in pulverem deducat.	6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.
7 Exsurge, Domine, in ira tua, et exaltare in finibus inimicorum meorum : et exsurge, Domine Deus meus, in præcepto quod mandasti,	7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!
8 et synagoga populorum circumdabit te : et propter hanc in altum regredere :	8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.
9 Dominus judicat populos. Judica me, Domine, secundum justitiam meam, et secundum innocentiam meam super me.	9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.
10 Consumetur nequitia peccatorum, et diriges justum, scrutans corda et renes, Deus.	10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.
11 Justum adjutorium meum a Domino, qui salvos facit rectos corde.	11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening
12 Deus judex justus, fortis, et patiens ; numquid irascitur per singulos dies ?	12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;
13 Nisi conversi fueritis, gladium suum vibrabit ; arcum suum tetendit, et paravit illum.	13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;
14 Et in eo paravit vasa mortis, sagittas suas ardentibus effecit.	14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.
15 Ecce parturiit injustitiam ; concepit dolorem, et peperit iniquitatem.	15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.
16 Lacum aperuit, et effodit eum ; et incidit in foveam quam fecit.	16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .
17 Convertetur dolor ejus in caput ejus, et in verticem ipsius iniquitas ejus descendet.	17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.
18 Confitebor Domino secundum justitiam ejus, et psallam nomini Domini altissimi.
