In finem, filiis Core. Psalmus. | 1 [For the choirmaster On the . . . of Gath Of the sons of Korah Psalm] How lovely are your dwel ing-places, Yahweh Sabaoth. |
Benedixisti, Domine, terram tuam ; avertisti captivitatem Jacob. | 2 My whole being yearns and pines for Yahweh's courts, My heart and my body cry out for joy to theliving God. |
Remisisti iniquitatem plebis tuæ ; operuisti omnia peccata eorum. | 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, the swal ow a nest to place its young: your altars, YahwehSabaoth, my King and my God. |
Mitigasti omnem iram tuam ; avertisti ab ira indignationis tuæ. | 4 How blessed are those who live in your house; they shall praise you continual y. Pause |
Converte nos, Deus salutaris noster, et averte iram tuam a nobis. | 5 Blessed those who find their strength in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. |
Numquid in æternum irasceris nobis ? aut extendes iram tuam a generatione in generationem ? | 6 As they pass through the Val ey of the Balsam, they make there a water-hole, and -- a further blessing-- early rain fil s it. |
Deus, tu conversus vivificabis nos, et plebs tua lætabitur in te. | 7 They make their way from height to height, God shows himself to them in Zion. |
Ostende nobis, Domine, misericordiam tuam, et salutare tuum da nobis. | 8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, hear my prayer, listen, God of Jacob. |
Audiam quid loquatur in me Dominus Deus, quoniam loquetur pacem in plebem suam, et super sanctos suos, et in eos qui convertuntur ad cor. | 9 God, our shield, look, and see the face of your anointed. |
Verumtamen prope timentes eum salutare ipsius, ut inhabitet gloria in terra nostra. | 10 Better one day in your courts than a thousand at my own devices, to stand on the threshold of God'shouse than to live in the tents of the wicked. |
Misericordia et veritas obviaverunt sibi ; justitia et pax osculatæ sunt. | 11 For Yahweh God is a rampart and shield, he gives grace and glory; Yahweh refuses nothing good tothose whose life is blameless. |
Veritas de terra orta est, et justitia de cælo prospexit. | 12 Yahweh Sabaoth, blessed is he who trusts in you. |
Etenim Dominus dabit benignitatem, et terra nostra dabit fructum suum. | |
Justitia ante eum ambulabit, et ponet in via gressus suos. |
