1 Or que' tre uomini lasciarono ili rispondere a Giobbe, perché egli si teneva per giusto.	1 Then the three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
2 Ma Eliu figliuolo di Barachel, Buzite, della stirpe di Ram diede in escandescenza, e si sdegnò contro Giobbe, perché questi diceva se esser giusto dinanzi a Dio.	2 But the anger of Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled. He was angry with Job for considering himself rather than God to be in the right.
3 E si adirò eziandio cogli amici di lui, perché non avean saputo trovare risposta conveniente, ma solo avean condannato Giobbe.	3 He was angry also with the three friends because they had not found a good answer and had not condemned Job.
4 Eliu adunque aspettò, che Giobbe avesse parlato, perché quelli che avean parlato innanzi eran di età maggiori;	4 But since these men were older than he, Elihu bided his time before addressing Job.
5 Ma quando egli vide, che i tre non potevan rispondere, ne concepì un fiero sdegno.	5 When, however, Elihu saw that there was no reply in the mouths of the three men, his wrath was inflamed.
6 E presa la parola Eliu figliuolo di Barachel di Buzi disse: Io sono il più giovane di età, e voi più vecchi; per questo abbassando il capo non ho ardito di esporvi il mio sentimento.	6 So Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite, spoke out and said: I am young and you are very old; therefore I held back and was afraid to declare to you my knowledge.
7 Perocché io sperava, che l'età più matura avrebbe parlato, e che i molti anni sarebber maestri di sapienza.	7 Days should speak, I thought, and many years teach wisdom!
8 Ma per guanto io veggo lo spirito è negli uomini, ma dall'ispirazione dell'Onnipotente viene l'intelligenza.	8 But it is a spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.
9 Non quelli di lunga età sono sapienti, né i vecchj son quelli, che sono capaci di ben giudicare.	9 It is not those of many days who are wise, nor the aged who understand the right.
10 Per questo io parlerò: ascoltatemi, mostrerò io pure a voi quel, ch'io mi sappia.	10 Therefore I say, hearken to me; let me too set forth my knowledge!
11 Perocché io diedi luogo a' vostri ragionamenti, stetti attento alle vostre ragioni, fino a tanto che son durate le vostre dispute.	11 Behold, I have waited for your discourses, and have given ear to your arguments.
12 E fintantoché io credetti, che voi foste per dir qualche cosa, stetti sullo mie; ma per quanto veggo nissun di voi può riconvenir Giobbe, né rispondere alle sue parole.	12 Yes, I followed you attentively as you searched out what to say; And behold, there is none who has convicted Job, not one of you who could refute his statements.
13 Né mi state a dire: Noi abbiam trovato il gran punto: egli è Dio, e non un uomo colui che l'ha riprovato.	13 Yet do not say, "We have met wisdom. God may vanquish him but not man!"
14 Egli non ha detta parola a me, ed io non risponderò a lui a tenore de' vostri ragionamenti.	14 For had he addressed his words to me, I should not then have answered him as you have done.
15 Costoro si sono intimiditi, non han più data risposta, si sono ammutoliti.	15 They are dismayed, they make no more reply; words fail them.
16 Dacché io pertanto ho aspettato, ed eglino non hanno parlato, han fatta pausa, e non han più risposto:	16 Must I wait? Now that they speak no more, and have ceased to make reply,
17 Parlerò anch'io per la parte mia, e mostrerò il mio sapere.	17 I too will speak my part; I also will show my knowledge!
18 Perocché son pieno di cose da dire, e mi soffoga lo spirito, ch'io porto in seno.	18 For I am full of matters to utter; the spirit within me compels me.
19 Come un vino nuovo, che non ha esalazione spezza i nuovi vasi, così nel mio petto succede.	19 Like a new wineskin with wine under pressure, my bosom is ready to burst.
20 Parlerò affine di respirare alena poco: aprirò le labbra, e risponderò.	20 Let me speak and obtain relief; let me open my lips, and make reply.
21 Non sarò accettator di persone e non agguaglierò l'uomo a Dio.	21 I would not be partial to anyone, nor give flattering titles to any.
22 Perocché non so io quanto tempo ancor durerò, e se dopo breve spazio verrà a prendermi il mio Creatore.	22 For I know nought of flattery; if I did, my Maker would soon take me away.
