Canticum ipsi David, quando domus ædificabatur post captivitatem. Cantate Domino canticum novum ; cantate Domino omnis terra. | 1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. |
Cantate Domino, et benedicite nomini ejus ; annuntiate de die in diem salutare ejus. | 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. |
Annuntiate inter gentes gloriam ejus ; in omnibus populis mirabilia ejus. | 3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. |
Quoniam magnus Dominus, et laudabilis nimis : terribilis est super omnes deos. | 4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. |
Quoniam omnes dii gentium dæmonia ; Dominus autem cælos fecit. | 5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. |
Confessio et pulchritudo in conspectu ejus ; sanctimonia et magnificentia in sanctificatione ejus. | 6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. |
Afferte Domino, patriæ gentium, afferte Domino gloriam et honorem ; | 7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, |
afferte Domino gloriam nomini ejus. Tollite hostias, et introite in atria ejus ; | 8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: |
adorate Dominum in atrio sancto ejus. Commoveatur a facie ejus universa terra ; | 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. |
dicite in gentibus, quia Dominus regnavit. Etenim correxit orbem terræ, qui non commovebitur ; judicabit populos in æquitate. | 10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: |
Lætentur cæli, et exsultet terra ; commoveatur mare et plenitudo ejus ; | 11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. |
gaudebunt campi, et omnia quæ in eis sunt. Tunc exsultabunt omnia ligna silvarum | |
a facie Domini, quia venit, quoniam venit judicare terram. Judicabit orbem terræ in æquitate, et populos in veritate sua. |
