9 Montate a cavallo, e fate pompa de' vostri cocchi, e si avanzino i valorosi dell'Etiopia, e que' della Libia collo scudo alla mano, e i Lidi, che dan di piglio alle frecce, e le scoccano.	9 Charge, horses! Forward, chariots! Let the warriors advance, men from Cush and Put with shield inhand, men from Lud who bend the bow!'
10 Ma quel giorno sarà giorno del Signore, del Dio degli eserciti, giorno di vendetta, in cui farà pagare le pena a' suoi nemici: la spada divorerà, e si satollerà, e s'inebrierà del lor sangue: imperocché ecco la vittima del Signore Dio degli eserciti nella terra di settentrione, presso al fiume Eufrate.	10 For this is the Day of Lord Yahweh Sabaoth, a day of vengeance when he takes revenge on his foes:the sword wil devour until gorged, until drunk with their blood, for Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is holding a sacrificialfeast in the land of the north, on the River Euphrates.
11 Va a Galaad, e prendi del balsamo, o vergine figlia d'Egitto; indarno tu moltiplichi i rimedi, tu non vi troverai guarigione.	11 Go up to Gilead and fetch balm, virgin daughter of Egypt! You multiply remedies in vain, nothing cancure you!
12 La tua ignominia è divulgata tralle genti, e la terra è piena delle tue strida: perchè il forte ha inciampato nel forte, e son caduti al tempo stesso ambidue.	12 The nations have heard of your shame, your wailing fil s the world, for warrior has stumbled againstwarrior, and both have fal en together.
13 Parola detta dal Signore a Geremia profeta intorno al futuro arrivo di Nabuchodonosor re di Babilonia nella terra d'Egitto a devastarla.	13 The word that came from Yahweh to the prophet Jeremiah when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylonadvanced to attack Egypt.
14 Portate questa nuova all'Egitto fatela udire a Magdalo, e risuoni in Memphis, e in Taphnis, e dite: sta in piè, e preparati; perocché la spada divorerà tutto quello, che è intorno a te.	14 Publish it in Egypt, proclaim it in Migdol, proclaim it in Noph and Tahpanhes! Say, 'Stand your ground,be prepared, for the sword is devouring al round you!'
15 Come mai il tuo campione è spossato? non si è retto su' piedi, perchè il Signore lo ha gettato per terra.	15 Why has Apis fled? Why has your Mighty One not stood firm? Why, Yahweh has overturned him,

19 Prepara il bisognevole per la tua trasmigrazione, o fanciulla abitatrice dell'Egitto; perocché Memphi sarà ridotta in solitudine, e abbandonata, e deformata.	19 Get your bundle ready for exile, fair inhabitant of Egypt! Noph will be reduced to a desert, desolate,uninhabited.

But afterwards, Egypt wil be inhabited again as in the past, Yahweh declares.
27 E tu non temere, servo mio Giacobbe, e non aver paura, o Israele: perocché dal rimoto paese io ti libererò, e dalla terra, dove se' schiavo, libererò la tua stirpe: e tornerà Giacobbe, e avrà requie, e sarà felice; e non sarà chi a lui dia timore.	27 But do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Israel, do not be alarmed: for look, I shal rescue you fromafar and your descendants from the country where they are captive. Jacob wil return and be at peace, secure,with no one to trouble him.
28 E tu non isbigottirti, Giacobbe mio servo, dice il Signore; perocché io sono con te, perocché io consumerò tutte le genti, tralle quali ti ho disperso: ma te io non consumerò, ma ti gastigherò con misura, e non ti perdonerò come se tu fossi innocente.	28 Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Yahweh declares, for I am with you: I shal make an end of al thenations where I have driven you, but I shal not make an end of you, I shal discipline you only as you deserve,not leaving you quite unpunished.
