Geremia 35

1 Parola detta dal Signore a Geremia a tempo di Joachim figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, quando gli disse:	1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying:
2 Va alla casa dei Recabiti, e parla con essi, e conducili nella casa del Signore in una delle camere del tesoro, e presenta loro da bere del vino.	2 “Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and lead them into the house of the Lord, into one of the halls of the treasuries. And you shall give them wine to drink.”
3 Ed io presi Jezonia figliuolo di Geremia, figliuolo di Habsania, e i suoi fratelli, e tutti i loro figliuoli, e tutta la famiglia de' Recabiti;	3 And so I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the entire house of the Rechabites,
4 E li condussi nella casa del Signore, nella camera del tesoro, dove stavano i figliuoli di Hanan figliuolo di Jegedelia uomo di Dio, la qual camera era presso al tesoro de' principi, di là dalla tesoreria, di Maasia figliuolo di Sellimi, che era custode del vestibolo.	4 and I led them into the house of the Lord, to the treasury of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was near the treasury of the princes, above the storehouse of Maaseiah, the son of Shallum, who was the guardian of the entrance.
5 E misi dinanzi a' figliuoli della casa de' Recabiti de' bicchieri, e delle tazze piene di vino, e dissi loro: Bevete del vino.	5 And I placed before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls filled with wine, and chalices. And I said to them, “Drink wine.”
6 Ma quegli risposero: Noi non berem vino, perchè Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab padre nostro ci diede quest'ordine: Non berete vino voi, e i vostri figliuoli in eterno:	6 And they responded: “We will not drink wine. For Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, instructed us, saying: ‘You shall not drink wine, you and your sons, in perpetuity.
7 E non fabbricherete case, e non seminerete biade, e non pianterete, nò avrete vigne; ma abiterete sotto le tende per tutti i vostri giorni, affinchè viviate lungamente sopra la terra in cui siete di pellegrinaggio.	7 And you shall not build houses, and you shall not sow any seeds, and you shall not plant or have vineyards. Instead, you shall live in tents all your days, so that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are sojourners.’
8 Abbiam dunque ubbidito alla voce di Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab padre nostro in tutto quello, che egli ci ha comandato, e perciò non beviam vino in tutta la nostra vita noi, e le nostre donne, e i figliuoli, e le figlie:	8 Therefore, we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he has commanded us, so that we do not drink wine all our days, we and our wives, our sons and daughters.
9 E non fabbrichiamo case per abitarvi, e non abbiamo né vigna, ne campo da seminare:	9 And we do not build houses in which to live. And we do not have vineyard, or field, or seed to sow.
10 Ma abitiamo sotto le tende, e siamo stati ubbidienti a tutti i comandamenti dati a noi da Jonadab padre nostro.	10 Instead, we live in tents, and we have been obedient in accord with all that Jonadab, our father, has instructed us.
11 Ma essendo giunto Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia nella nostra terra, noi abbiam detto: Venite, entriamo in Gerusalemme per ischivare l'esercito de' Caldei, e l'esercito della Siria: e ci siam fermati in Gerusalemme.	11 But when Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had ascended to our land, we said: ‘Come and let us enter into Jerusalem, before the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and before the face of the army of Syria.’ And we have remained in Jerusalem.”
12 E il Signore parlò a Geremia, dicendo:	12 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:
13 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Va, e di agli uomini di Giuda, e agli abitatori di Gerusalemme: Non vi emenderete voi, ubbidendo alle mie parole, dice il Signore?	13 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not accept discipline, so that you obey my words, says the Lord?
14 Sono state in piena osservanza le parole di Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab, colle quali ordinò a' suoi figliuoli di non ber vino, ed ei non ne hanno bevuto sino a quest'oggi, eseguendo il comando del padre loro: ma io parlai a voi di buon ora, e senza intermissione, e non mi avete ubbidito.	14 The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he instructed his sons, so that they would not drink wine, have prevailed. And they have not drunk wine, even to this day. For they have obeyed the instruction of their father. But I have spoken to you, rising and speaking from early morning, and you did not obey me.
15 E mandai a voi i servi miei i profeti, di buon'ora li mandai, dicendo: Convertitevi ognun di voi dalla sua pessima vita, e rettificate i vostri affetti, e non andate dietro agli dei stranieri, e non gli onorate: e abiterete nella terra, ch'io diedi a voi, e a' padri vostri. Ma voi non mi porgeste orecchio, né mi ascoltaste.	15 And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising at first light, and sending, and saying: ‘Convert, each one from his wicked way, and make your intentions good. And do not choose to follow strange gods, nor shall you worship them. And then you shall live in the land which I gave to you and to your fathers.’ And yet you have not inclined your ear, and you have not heeded me.
16 I figli adunque di Jonadab han ritenuto costantemente il comandamento dato ad essi dal padre loro: ma questo popolo non ha ubbidito a me.	16 So the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have remained firm in the commandment of their father, which he instructed to them, while this people has not been obedient to me.
17 Per questo così parla il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio a Israele: Ecco che io farò cader sopra Giuda, e sopra tutti gli abitatori di Gerusalemme tutti i disastri, che io ho lor minacciati, perchè ho parlato ad essi, e non mi hanno ascoltato; gli ho chiamati, e non mi hanno risposto.	17 For this reason, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will lead over Judah and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every evil that I have declared against them. For I have spoken to them, and they have not listened. I have called to them, and they have not responded to me.”
18 Ma Geremia disse alla famiglia de' Recabiti: Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Perchè voi avete ubbidito al comando di Jonadab padre vostro, e avete osservati tutti i suoi insegnamenti, e avete eseguito tutto quello, ch'egli v'impose:	18 Then Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites: “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab, your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he has instructed you,
19 Per questo cosi dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio di Israele: Non mancherà della stirpe di Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab chi stia dinanzi a me per tutti i tempi.	19 because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: There will not be a man lacking from the stock of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, standing in my sight, for all days.”
