1 'Al maestro del coro. Dei figli di Core. Salmo.'	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Hear this, all nations, listen, al who dwel on earth,
2 Ascoltate, popoli tutti, porgete orecchio abitanti del mondo,	2 people high and low, rich and poor alike!
3 voi nobili e gente del popolo, ricchi e poveri insieme.	3 My lips have wisdom to utter, my heart good sense to whisper.
4 La mia bocca esprime sapienza, il mio cuore medita saggezza;	4 I listen careful y to a proverb, I set my riddle to the music of the harp.
5 porgerò l'orecchio a un proverbio, spiegherò il mio enigma sulla cetra.	5 Why should I be afraid in times of trouble? Malice dogs me and hems me in.
6 Perché temere nei giorni tristi, quando mi circonda la malizia dei perversi?	6 They trust in their wealth, and boast of the profusion of their riches.
7 Essi confidano nella loro forza, si vantano della loro grande ricchezza.	7 But no one can ever redeem himself or pay his own ransom to God,
8 Nessuno può riscattare se stesso, o dare a Dio il suo prezzo.	8 the price for himself is too high; it can never be
9 Per quanto si paghi il riscatto di una vita, non potrà mai bastare	9 that he wil live on for ever and avoid the sight of the abyss.
10 per vivere senza fine, e non vedere la tomba.	10 For he wil see the wise also die no less than the fool and the brute, and leave their wealth behind forothers.
11 Vedrà morire i sapienti; lo stolto e l'insensato periranno insieme e lasceranno ad altri le loro ricchezze.	11 For ever no home but their tombs, their dwel ing-place age after age, though they gave their name towhole territories.
12 Il sepolcro sarà loro casa per sempre, loro dimora per tutte le generazioni, eppure hanno dato il loro nome alla terra.	12 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
13 Ma l'uomo nella prosperità non comprende, è come gli animali che periscono.	13 So they go on in their self-assurance, right up to the end they are content with their lot.Pause
14 Questa è la sorte di chi confida in se stesso, l'avvenire di chi si compiace nelle sue parole.	14 They are penned in Sheol like sheep, Death wil lead them to pasture, and those who are honest wilrule over them. In the morning al trace of them wil be gone, Sheol wil be their home.
15 Come pecore sono avviati agli inferi, sarà loro pastore la morte; scenderanno a precipizio nel sepolcro, svanirà ogni loro parvenza: gli inferi saranno la loro dimora.	15 But my soul God wil ransom from the clutches of Sheol, and wil snatch me up.Pause
16 Ma Dio potrà riscattarmi, mi strapperà dalla mano della morte.	16 Do not be overawed when someone gets rich, and lives in ever greater splendour;
17 Se vedi un uomo arricchirsi, non temere, se aumenta la gloria della sua casa.	17 when he dies he wil take nothing with him, his wealth wil not go down with him.
18 Quando muore con sé non porta nulla, né scende con lui la sua gloria.	18 Though he pampered himself while he lived -- and people praise you for looking after yourself-
19 Nella sua vita si diceva fortunato: "Ti loderanno, perché ti sei procurato del bene".	19 he will go to join the ranks of his ancestors, who wil never again see the light.
20 Andrà con la generazione dei suoi padri che non vedranno mai più la luce.	20 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
21 L'uomo nella prosperità non comprende, è come gli animali che periscono.
