VULGATANEW JERUSALEM
1 Huic David, quando terra ejus restituta est. Dominus regnavit : exsultet terra ;
lætentur insulæ multæ.
1 Sing a new song to Yahweh! Sing to Yahweh, al the earth!
2 Nubes et caligo in circuitu ejus ;
justitia et judicium correctio sedis ejus.
2 Sing to Yahweh, bless his name! Proclaim his salvation day after day,
3 Ignis ante ipsum præcedet,
et inflammabit in circuitu inimicos ejus.
3 declare his glory among the nations, his marvels to every people!
4 Illuxerunt fulgura ejus orbi terræ ;
vidit, et commota est terra.
4 Great is Yahweh, worthy of al praise, more awesome than any of the gods.
5 Montes sicut cera fluxerunt a facie Domini ;
a facie Domini omnis terra.
5 Al the gods of the nations are idols! It was Yahweh who made the heavens;
6 Annuntiaverunt cæli justitiam ejus,
et viderunt omnes populi gloriam ejus.
6 in his presence are splendour and majesty, in his sanctuary power and beauty.
7 Confundantur omnes qui adorant sculptilia,
et qui gloriantur in simulacris suis.
Adorate eum omnes angeli ejus.
7 Give to Yahweh, families of nations, give to Yahweh glory and power,
8 Audivit, et lætata est Sion,
et exsultaverunt filiæ Judæ
propter judicia tua, Domine.
8 give to Yahweh the glory due to his name! Bring an offering and enter his courts,
9 Quoniam tu Dominus altissimus super omnem terram ;
nimis exaltatus es super omnes deos.
9 adore Yahweh in the splendour of his holiness. Tremble before him, al the earth.
10 Qui diligitis Dominum, odite malum :
custodit Dominus animas sanctorum suorum ;
de manu peccatoris liberabit eos.
10 Say among the nations, 'Yahweh is king.' The world is set firm, it cannot be moved. He wil judge thenations with justice.
11 Lux orta est justo,
et rectis corde lætitia.
11 Let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad! Let the sea thunder, and al it holds!
12 Lætamini, justi, in Domino,
et confitemini memoriæ sanctificationis ejus.		12 Let the countryside exult, and al that is in it, and al the trees of the forest cry out for joy,
13 at Yahweh's approach, for he is coming, coming to judge the earth; he will judge the world withsaving justice, and the nations with constancy.
